Default Wheel of time - Movie >and< Game!

Well, it's several months late, but I just found it on my latest issue of PCGamer.

Can't believe you guys missed this.

The article however doesn't mention the games part, so that I had to search for myself. Apparently a newly created gaming studio is going to make one game per movie, which is going to be a total of three movies and three games.
    Source.

    Edit: SHIT, Even an MMO!

Unfortunately I believe the same thing, however they might do a good job.

I do have hopes, yet my doubts always seem to win out.

Schizo much? This is great news still - an awesome way to bring the memory of Robert Jordan to life. Crappy or not. To be honest, I'd play a "World of Warcraft" in the "Wheel of Time" universe for some months.

The series will probably get raped without lube.

But i'll check it out anyway.
The dwarves of yore made mighty spells while hammers fell like ringing bells,
In places deep where dark things sleep in hollow halls beneath the fells.
For ancient king and elvish lord there many a gleaming golden hoard,
They shaped and wrought and light they caught to hide in gems on hilt of sword.

    Let's see -

Books that had potential but turned out to be shit. (drawn out, repetative - yawn)
    All MMO's fail (so far)
Movies based on shit books = shit movies

Nice work finding massive fail - cookie

The first 2-3 books were ok...bit generic but readable. After that, it just got silly. I read up to book 13 because I hate leaving a series unfinished and he popped his clogs before he finished the damn thing anyway. 16 books wasn't it, that he was planning?

Totally unnecessary, when most of the books were exactly the same anyway (Perrin chasing after his wife, Mat being chased by women, Rand pwning everyone and the Aes Sedai pretending they were all that). Yawnfest. He was obviously trying for Epic and achieved Epic Fail.

Now movies of Robin Hobbs books...those would be worth watching.

    Thanks Fawkes!

You know what I'm talking about. First 2 books? Kinda decent, then it was the same shit over and over and over. Drawn out nonsense after that. He tried waaaay too hard to make the thing epic, and instead got mired in idiotic dream states and then he made Rand too powerful too soon.

Total shit. I never made it to 13 books but I think I slugged through 7? And said fuck it. Nothing made me want to continue.

Their was talk of a mmorpg years ago but it never amounted to anything. The films would have to be done really good to work. As for the series of books, well they ended up being really tedious towards the end.

They would do better making films and games out of Raymond E Feist books.

Magician would be a great starting point.

    Now we're talking.

That series was amazing and a film adaptation would be epic. I'd stop at Darkness at Sethanon as it got a bit wonky after that...
