    Default Wall Street bonuses

The disgust and contempt I feel for this bailout continues to grow.

...According to a report from financial news agency Bloomberg, Goldman Sachs, for example, has set aside $6.8 billion for bonuses, and Morgan Stanley, $6.4 billion...

    Cool

    and you are surprised why?

i mean...it's not as if an ex Goldman exec has sole charge of handing out the billions or anything...

    oh wait....!

I like how the same people outraged by this are the ones who love big government to handle everything. Will you ever learn?

just in case some of that snark was heading my way...you do realize i never said anything positive about the Bernake/Paulson bailout plan?

    or the AIG bailout either...

imo, if the gov't decided to do it, they should have bought up controlling interest of stock to capitalize, fired the shitheads on the board of directors and the ceos, hired internally with performance review, and sold the stocks later at a profit

    is that too capitalist?

do the same for GM, et al, contingent on 50mpg cars for the next model year, etc...

Wasn't really directed at you, moreso at the people who weren't outraged by the bailout to begin with, and certainly at the people who embraced it.

    source?

from what i understood there was no voting stock, and the same management that fucked shit up will stay in place

that's the way it's going with AIG, i have heard that Paulson/Bernake are changing their minds about the banks, but is it voting stock and are theyt replacing the Boards and CEOs?

It's their money now, no point in complaining as to how it's spent. Fucktards voted for the bailout, that's what happens.

nothing solid yet as to who will get Treasury.... we will see, eh?

an dthanks for the linkage, Septus

from what i've skimmed so far (just got home), it looks like they are buying "preferred" stock... are those voting shares?

but it looks like management stays in place...some lip service about "executive compensation"

but all in all, this is why the original bill had a get out of jail free clause in it, motherfuckers are paying off their cronies at taxpayers expense....again, and we get shit for the money
