    Default Subjective vs circumstance

When viewing a subjective opinion one might say that it is so outside of circumstance but when viewed under the circumstances owning the opinion maker it may be viewed as objective.

Does this hold to the scrutiny of Forum Fall?

    Cool

no..objective by it's very definition means that it remains the same and inviolate no matter the viewpoint

whereas subjective is always open to change/interpretation/etc depending on viewpoint

So an individual CANNOT have an objective opinion? Only groups? This is to say an individual must have the objectivity to see ones own circumstances clearly.

    a Trick question!!

and individual can strive for objectivity, but that is a rare commodity

it's not purely subjective viewpoint, but the ability to discount prejudice and actually observe, record and report just the factual data...and not add, invent or wish anything into the observation due to sheer subjective preconceptions/prejudices

    ever read any Heinlein?

Heinlein? No. he seems a little to current for me. I stopped at John Austin's essay on excuses(U. of san-fran 1976(or close). But yes Im saying objectively overlay your own understanding of your circumstances for truth and then interweave them with the group and see if they hold up to scrutiny.

    Well in this place...

The academics seem to be the fail! In the original subjective/objective thread the main assumption was there is no objectivity at all. I just needed to make the dignity of this debate held a little higher than that.

If J.A. sux so bad thats just another excuse!

Heinlein started writing in the 40's, and died in the 80's

no worries..in one of his books, he postulated the concept of the "Fair Witness", people with photographic memories trained to ONLY report objective fact

there is also a nice screed on getting the pure facts..to shun wishful thinking, what the stars foretell, what the neighbors say...etc...just the facts

I have no idea. Gratz on the spamtastic title Slyppie.

Darkfall is going to be an FPS, First Person Sworder, which means you're going to sword the first person you meet.
