So your OS (Win XP 64bit) supports this 8 GB of RAM? What is the max. supported for Win XP 64bit?

    128gb.

EDIT: But no consumer motherboard supports that kind of RAM, so you'd have to build a mini super computer in order to take advantage of the RAM capabilities.

    8800 GT 512mb superclocked
    500GB WD SataII hard drive.

of course, I can send DXdiag when necessary, which is a more true indication of a persons hw as opposed to a posting on a forum.

    GeForce 6600
1 GB RAM (afaik it's actually DDR)
    AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+

The comp I plan to build later this year (probably before the end of October; the financial aspect of it all is finally coming to a close).
    Radeon HD4870
    E8500
    4 GB DDR 1066 MHz

My laptop (which I just started considering using as my beta computer until I build my new comp):
Radeon 3100 (an integrated chip type of deal; I haven't tested it in depth but it seems to function comparably to my 6600).
3 GB 800 MHz SDRAM (which I suppose is different from DDR and DDR2 but I wouldn't know).
    AMD Turion X2 RM-70
