Best value ever, although it doesn't come with a cooler.

I'd double up on that ram, get two sets of those chips. Or better yet they have 2x2GB DDR2 800 chips at new egg for about 80 bucks. Which would leave you two open slots for future upgrades, and give you 4 gigs of ram.

You might also upgrade the cpu to the E8400 for another 50 bucks or so.

You can get a 500 gig HDD for 100 bones, there are about a dozen options available at newegg if I remember right. (Wasn't long ago I was checking)

Otherwise it looks good. If people say that mobo has a problem i'm sure there is another in the same price range that will be just fine, though I've never personally used that board so don't go by me there.

just get 1 2gb stick of ddr2 and buy a 2nd later when yuo need/want it.

i just bought a seagate hdd: annoying little bullshit jumper, and a little louder than my WD. Fine other than that though. Mine's 500gb, and not much moar than yours.

I got the same cpu fan as you, I like it. quiet and effective.

the e8400 processor is only 60 bucks moar than the one you're getting.

You guys realize that he is going for budget? Another 60$ may break his budget.

And plus you can get a 640gb HD for 100 "bones."

I think the intel path is great right now.

The Gigabyte P35 board is great, and he could easily replace that processor with a 45nm quad core later on the cheap. Whenever nehalem comes out that is... Price drops ftw? ;]

He asked for opinions. We gave them. He can chose to ignore them, or go with them. That is i'm sure why he asked.

Yeah, OP's PC seems brilliant for the price. I'm buying a computer myself, however not until August, I'll also have a $1500-1600 budget so I can go crazeh.
Jesus loves you... but I still think you're a cunt.

My IRL friend got scammed by a local computer shop.. they charged him ~£1000 (~$2000) for a system that I got from a different store for ~£200 (~$400).

Now he wants to spend his money on "The Beast" (Link). The name alone is worth £1000 apparantly :P
