    Default The US' M1 - M3 money

Anyone else a little curious what's gonna happen now that M1 has been doubled, yet M3 has been shrinking, and once you pull out the M1 numbers, M3 is collapsing. This must be something the likes of Marilio should know.

Has anyone been able to find some EU number crunches for the same ones? I can't be arsed to actually put together the load and put them in a graph, like a EU shadowstats or something.

I expected to be able to purchase this. Safe to say I was disappointed.

Collapsing is a harsh word. There could be a number of scenarios to explain this, the money demand could be going up as a response of a heating up economy, making consumers more confident and thus, buying more shit. That would be one to explain why M1, usually referred as the more liquid one, has been increasing. M3 could be taken into consideration as investment money...money tied to gold, stocks, mutual funds, shit like that. I'd need a bit more information to accurately say what is definitely causing it, although I think the latter is not completely off. Investment has been dull in the past quarters because of a mediocre outlook for businesses. The funny thing is, people are buying more stuff, which we could call an increase in consumer confidence, but they are more reluctant to place their money into a company's coffers in the form of investments. Human psychology, gotta love it.
We should celebrate March 2013 as the month Off-Topic went Full Retard.
