What's so bad about a person not having much computer knowledge and just getting a pc optimizer program to help them out?

Im not sure what they are called in the task manager I remember when I was little playing oblivion and a friend showed me what the task manager is and went home so I was messing with it by myself closing things making the computer go faster and I close explorer.exe lol. That was obviously bad but a simple restart fixed it, the point is I dont know what processes I need and dont need so I would appreciate a list of programs I cant close like explorer.exe and than I guess I will close the rest.

Thank you darkfall lol lots of trolls but its still the best forum, the better something is the more bad that follows haha
Memory usage is listed in the task manager on the process list. You can tell windows not to hide icons and to close those programs, you rigth-click the icon.

You can just restart explorer.exe by typing "explorer" I think it was in the task manager. That brings back the taskbar etc.

Just uninstall a bunch of stuff or stop them from launching on start-up to prevent having to close them. I think Ccleaner has a tool for managing auto-run progs.

The thing is some process closed that way cant be restarted that easily without a reboot.
