Seems like a bad idea obviously. I mean they can barely manage one game. I guess it makes sense though because a new game will attract a new audience. I think Darkfall will never recover from what's not happening with it.
Well i think they realized they fucked themselves with darkfall 1 so they started making the new game late 09, and darkfall will recover greatly once darkfall 2 comes out. first of all their are the people playing now who will want to play, then a new audience who never heard about the game, the thousands of people who quit this but will give it another chance once they see darkfall 2, all in all it will be like the darkfall launch again with 40 people at a goblin spawn.
i also think they can manage their own game, but why improve a game that will be replaced soon for a much much better game. just because you haven't seen the things they are talking about in darkfall 1 doesn't mean they never did them, just means there saving it all for darkfall 2.
i hate that i love darkfall
I can honestly say that the greatest times I've had in Darkfall went beyond the PvP, crafting, or other physical interactions. The depth of political interactions in the game is wonderful, and the freedom to maneuver as you please is great. That being said, I haven't been subscribed since last November (and AV won't respond to my support emails, so I can't resub) and from the looks of it, the politics have gotten rather stale. I think that DF2 will revamp that allure to the game.
As far as creating a new game, I think that Aventurine needs to expand, and with the help of Korean funding, their new game will potentially reach a new audience. I don't think they will recycle the concepts of DF into it, because they need a revenue-retaining game to polish their pride and joy which is Darkfall. Good move Aventurine, now please show signs that your customer support team is still alive and able to check emails once a day.
