The anti-tax, anti-immigration movement has been holding summer camps in states including Florida and Missouri where children have been taught a curriculum based on God, the US constitution and "the defence of economic liberty".

Now your post makes sense because it shows the contradiction when it comes to political camps for kids.

Wow, really that was probably the most inapropriate and unnecessary comment on a seriously tragic subject. What a wanker.

    Depends on the context.

If there is a camp that teaches about politics as a whole then no I don’t find that very disturbing at all. There are a lot of kids out there who want to pursue politics when they grow up. Seeing as how there are almost zero political classes in elementary or high school a camp geared towards kids with that interest could be beneficial. Much like space camp for kids who are interested in being astronauts or science camp for kids that are interested in science.

Same with religion, I was hardcore into Greek and roman mythology when I was a kid, I would have loved to go to a camp where they taught about all of the old religions simply to learn about them. I am in no way religious nor do I follow a religion but I always thought it was an extremely interesting topic. I think you have something like Jesus Camp in mind though, that is definitely disturbing.

I also like how fox news try to make people believe that the shooter isn't a right wing christian.

AUF is the youth organization of AP, the Labour party, though it is considered more to the left. And thus more in favor of getting more non-western immigration/ asylum seekers and changing the laws in the immigrants favor.

I think you have to join AUF to go to the camp so it's about indoctrination/bonding etc and not unbiased education.

I think it is common for political parties to organize "summer camps" for the youth... Only young people afilliated with the party or that relate with it and have an interest in politics attend these things. Why else would you spend so much time in a room listening to politicians during summer?

I think I read they had people as young as 13 which was a bit weird but at least it's not 6 and 8 year olds attending these things...

What the heck are you reading?

His father was part of the socialist party but not he himself.

I don't know about his economic stances but culturally he seems to be extremely conservative.

He was part of the right wing party in Norway but left it because he didn't consider them culturally conservative enough. He also got offered to join a freemason order by a friend since he was the son of a socialistic diplomat but declined and joined the extreme-right viking group. Later on he also co-founded a templar order in Brittain.

He also boasted about the PVV in Holland which is considered extreme-right by many and considered Filip DeWinter of Belgium as an inspiration and he's of Vlaams Belang which is also extreme right.

I'm fairly sure he was a conservative and a pretty extreme one even for US standards if he decides to bomb the ministry of finances and attack a socialist youth camp.
<Teth> It's best not to talk to Gunther, though
    <Jarlaxle> why ? he's a legend
<Teth> He's primarily a legend because he's very good at antagonizing the ops without going far enough to be pwnz0red

<@erik> Gunther will, true to his nature, probably get himself banned again soon enough ;)

Conservative in Europe is Liberal in US. Unless the news agency already took that into account when they reported.

Stupid comment, but in all fairness, it was a criticism of the parents who would send their kids to a political camp, and not of the kids themselves.
