Interesting. Microsoft is losing ground. Could this be due to Chrome?

I think chrome has potential for a large market share. At first it was pretty much just another browser and still is to most people, but it does shine in a nice way and affords a lot of screen realestate for the actual webpage which is great, while most other broswers are still happy cramming as many buttons as possible down our throats.

Firefox has been out for donkeys years and hasn't been strong enough to cause that much of a dent in Microsoft's iron rule.

    Chrome however, is relatively new.

Chrome has tabs at the top which takes a lot of prime screen real-estate for wide-screens. Opera allows you to put tabs and menus on the sides instead. I only have the title bar thing at the top with the window buttons (need Linux to save 1 vertical bar) and one at the bottom for the things I really need.

Chrome is good and will probably rise high, but don't say Firefox hasn't got anything to do with it.

No it doesn't. What would normally be in the browser's status bar pops up periodically and invades the territory of the website.
