Seriously, compared to other games the combat doesn't feel smooth enough - unless they did a major overhaul in the last months while I've been away... definitely room for improvements!

Edit2: One example which should be pretty obvious. Casting spells. Way too much unnecessary button mashing...
    WHAT?

Why would you get expansion notes BEFORE an expansion launches?

Community staff are not paid employees of Aventurine. In all business our opinions are entirely our own, and do not represent official Aventurine opinions.

You are wrong her. So is the person who replied with numbers.

You get 0.02 VITR/STR per hour from swimming when those two stats are over 60. This means simply: the higher your stats the slower the stat gain.

Even if someone AFK swims every day for 10 hours, that would translate into 2.5 hit points in 5 days. Is that seriously an issue to whine and moan about?

It might actually make the whole "their other city" concept less attractive. Which would be a good thing for the game. Right now it is too easy and too attractive for sufficiently large groups to have two cities per clan.

Makes geographical position mean very little. And it should mean a lot.

Because we have all played WoW where you get patch/expansion notes befor launch.

When I say "we have all played WoW" you have to translate this into:

We have all received severe mental damage by playing WoW.

I've not played WoW. Every MMO I've played had patch notes during patch downtime, except for LOTRO which was because the patch went on american servers earlier than european servers because of some middle man bullshit.

WoW probably has a load of middleman or localisation bullshit that means that patches are set in stone days or weeks before they are deployed whereas aventurine only has one version to worry about and so patches go live ASAP and things can potentially be ripped out at the last minute for whatever reason (e.g. stat potions).

To avoid being completely shafted by the changes? And to give the community a chance to voice an opinion before it goes live, to avoid the most obvious blunders. The developers simply don't see the holes that players do. They are not focused on maximising potential in the same way.
Even if it was still open for changes - a list of the upcoming changes would be nice.

We might not be playing Eve Online. But they should take a cue from CCP on this stuff.
The way they involve the player base and build a community is light years ahead of everyone else.

CCPs way of communicating with their playerbase is stellar, but then, EVE has been running for over 6 years now, where as darkfall has left the forumfall phase for what, 9 months? i'd say AV is on the right track when it comes to developing a healthy community interaction.

Considering how the forums are, there would be massive huge cry and whailing over every detail of the patch notes.

If they give them with the patch hopefully most of the players are out testing the stuff instaed of forumfalling.

Additionally, out-swimming a ship won't be an option anymore not only due to the speed changes but also due to the fact that the swimmer will notice that he or she will tire faster. Even swimming normally will prove to be a straining undertaking.
and what about people who propel themselves forward using shrapnel and other knock backs?
