    Default Old/Classic PC(DOS?) Games

Ok off topic, don't fail me now! I'm off the college and I am opting not to bring my desktop for a variety of reasons. However, while I am largely ignoring the gaming world for the next 3-4 months or so, I will need a few games to pass the time.

I'm bringing my Dell Inspiron 9 mini, which can hardly handle any games. I am just planning to code on it/write reports, BUT I think it will be able to handle Dosbox and maybe some other old games.

I'm looking for classic RPGs that I can fire up on DOSBOX and maybe some other fun little games to do. I've already got a few of my personal favorites, like Prince of Persia up and running, but I could use some RPGs! Text based, ASCII, DOS, whichever. I hear good things about the Goldbox games, and of course the Ultima Games.

    Any suggestions?

Doubt anyone will bring this one up, it's pretty fucking unknown, but is a blast to play.

You could always look into MUDs.

http://www.armageddon.org/ - my current personal favorite.

http://www.achaea.com/main.php - previously played, quite an interesting world.

This game seems really awesome. I've never played it because everything ran at super fast speed when I tried running the demo. But it should work with DOSBOX, if you can find a torrent for it.

Daggerfall (Elder Scrolls 2) - had the largest map of any of the ES games, but not without its bugs.

I've been playing for 4 years, or was. I quit recently due to the gameworld being stale.

My character began working for House Salarr. I wish the player population were more active. Outside of the bars, I've noticed fewer passersby along the streets and outskirts of Allanak.

Already on my list, and I've downloaded the fan fixes for the bugs. Not sure if it'll run on the mini, but I'm sure as hell going to try. It's a HARD game though. Died in the opening area twice.

As for the first few suggestions, Fallout, Tie Fighter, might be a bit too modern. I was thinking more very early 90s games. But thanks for all the quick feedback!

Salarr is fun, though not as fun as it was under Midge. My last played character was a Byn Sergeant I played for a year and a half. Can't get back into the unchanging world for the life of me.
