Default Which direction was it again?

Somewhere I've heard that when you make something up, you look into a certain direction and if you try to remember something, you generally look into another direction (has to do something with the brain-area used for those kind of things). It's of course not the hard-rule (if you know it, you can of course still look in the other direction).

Anyways, it's bugging me since a while now and maybe someone here heard of that one too and can tell me again which direction it was you look into. It may be useful to tell if you're being lied to or to fool other people who know of this as well.
    Deflation may be inevitable.

Even google has trouble answering these kinds of questions. I have tried several times to look up what certain theories were called and google doesn't seem to understand your confusing ass description of the said theory.

    false

    - Most righthanded people, look up and to the left when they want to remember something.
    - Most people look down and to the right, when trying to think how something would feel. (feelings)
    - Most people look up and to the right when Lying, or trying to imagine something.

This is what I remember I read in an NLP book.
Try googling for Lateral Eye Movements

try asking how many girls your friends had, and see wich direction they look at and also check their bodylanguage

If you really need to know whether someone is lying chances are he is competent enough to avoid giving it away with eye movement.

bodylanguage tells more about the person that what the person tells you.

It takes little training to use these assumptions about body language to your own advantage (by giving off false, or no signals).

I bet if you point a gun to the person's head , he wouldn't lie to you.
    Problem solved

If the target is aware (or thinks) that he's gonna get shot anyway, he wont say a thing.

Pain used to be the most popular sort of interrogation. The thumbscrew and the rack were famous for "loosening a strong man's tongue." Pain, however, is a two-edged weapon. Its infliction may be able to bring quick results-- but a victim pushed to Extremes of pain may babble anything his questioners wish to hear. Torture can also harden a few individuals. They may resist until death, or prove poor exhibits at a subsequent trial. Also torture can bring about negative propaganda towards the torturer.
From a book I've been reading. It claims soletary confinement combined with the good guy/bad guy tactic can make anyone talk.
