The upcoming expansion has some exciting PvE goodies in store. Not only did the art team start to update and improve some of the existing monster models, they've also been working closely with designers to add additional new sub-types to some of the monster families. This means more diversified models and additional roles among specific monster versions.
One of the models which got a complete overhaul and additional members to their fold, were the Sarlids. We were lucky enough to get a a
render of the new models from the art team.
There are also completely new creatures introduced in the expansion.
These new monsters not only show off a completely new look, they also have completely unique abilities. As you might know, NPCs are using the same type of skills players have at their disposal as well. One of the focus to changes to PvE is to add additional skills that are solely used by a certain type of creature. Some existing monsters as well as new ones have already received their own abilities which we'll leave for you to discover. Additionally there will be more strategic interaction between monsters that spawn together.
On this topic we have one specific monster team we would like to shine a bit more light on: The
Gorra Dar and the
Gorra Slaves.
These two monster types are a fresh addition ready to wreak havoc on Agon and have the unique ability of retreating underground at will. This team of monsters will also engage together, with the Gorra Slaves operating as scouts. These bugs will dig out of the ground to attack players. Sooner or later you might get unlucky (or lucky depending on the situation) enough to attract the attention of the Gorra Dar itself. This subterranean creature relies on sound to find its victims which means you'll need to walk silently to avoid having them burst out of the ground right under your nose.
To give you an idea of what a Gorra Dar attack looks like we put together a short
teaser video for your entertainment.
We hope you enjoy!
