Leaving NEW

After a great deal of careful thought, I've decided to resign my position as General of NEW. I was going to do so quietly, as I'm sure the majority of the server won't particularly care

, but Fury asked me to post a little something. I agreed because it gives me the chance to thank everyone for all they've done.

I want to thank Fury and the other Counselors for all of the hard work they do every day. I want to thank the many members of our support clans who endeavor to provide NEW members with a modicum of protection in and around Hammerdale. I also want to thank the griefers who frequent Hammerdale; you might not realize it, but you do quite a lot to help NEW. It's quite a heady experience for our members when they see the griefers defeated or running. I want to thank the many people of different clans who have stopped by Hammerdale or joined us in Mumble to offer their time and advice. Most of all, though, I want to thank all the many members of NEW. Since we started, we've seen over 750 players join us and graduate. Not all have stayed with the game, but many have, and knowing that I might have in some small way helped them learn to play a game I love so much is a wonderful thing.

Clymene for Darkfall MVP 2009 imo.

She was integral in NEW as well as starting BkS. I'm sure this thread will get a lot of marriage proposals from random old school black shields

Cly. Someone of your talents simply can't be replaced. You will be missed.

I recommend you take a good amount of time to consider your future plans and resist making snap decisions. Weather you decide to join an established clan or start a new one, your future clanmates will be lucky to have you.

The evil intentions of New have now become clear

Guide to creating a zerg through NEW
Step 1: Create a noob friendly clan with complete neutrality where people can level their toons in peace
Step 2: MAke it so that players are forced to find a new home after an amount of time that corresponds with their skills being properly leveled
Step 3: Befriend all the new players that enter the guild to where they will miss you and the friends they made
Step 4: After a few hundred players "graduate" from the guild, drop tag and form your own clan
Step 5: All old members of the clan will gravitate to the new guild, thus creating the largest zerg of a guild in the history of DF
