Settings:Performace v Siege
(Theory)First off this is due to "Auto-Optimization", AO for short. When this is on it disregards Object Clipping, OC for short, whether you have it on or not. AO makes it so you only see players in your close vicinity so in sieges you're not loading tons of people far away.
The problem is even if you turn AO off it doesn't turn OC back on. I think they forgot to make that happen. So I will give 2 different settings, 1 for better performance during sieges and 1 for pre-patch view distance.
The fix:
Normal/Good View distance:
AO doesn't turn OC back on (theory). So here is what you must do:
1. Turn of Auto Optimization.
1. Disable Object Clipping, hit apply.
2. Enable Object Clipping, hit apply.
-Max size of object to clip 400
-Max function value to clip 1000
-Min distance an object... 1
Settings that apply to both (What I use, decent graphics good performance):
-Dynamic lights 0-20
-Bloodstains 0-20
-Particle effects 100-200 (if you have trouble seeing Mana Missiles raise this)
-Auto-Optimization discussed below
-Object Clipping discussed below (And the 3 related settings to OC, which are the 3 right below the check box)
-Disable Quality reduction of animation (Do not check)
-Vegetation area size 50
-Vegetation density 1000
-Enable triple buffering
-Enable wait for vertical sync with monitor
-Disable Anti-Aliasing
-Gamma correction is brightness and is up to you
-Disable Shadows
-Disable Character Shadows
-Disable Scenery Shadows
-Quality of shadows LOW
-Quality if shadow smoothing LOW
-Disable drop shadow
-Shader version is just the look and should not effect performance, up to you
-Texture quality LOW
-Texture filtering LINEAR (this will often change it self back, so check/change it a lot)
-Anisotropy level LOW
-Disable post process effects
-Max # of 3D 150-300
Better performance during sieges:
-Turn on AO
-Max # of 3D sounds set to 0-20.
