I'm not sure if you could class Guild Wars as an MMO (it depends who you ask) but honestly I think that handled competitive PvP better. Nix grind = all you've got is who knows/plays the game better.
For non-competitive PvP (talking casual and lower-end here) it's a harder call, because GW didn't provide a lot of good options for that. Some people also like grind, so it is necessary to account for that.
