It seems my Dreams wont come true(Crafting)
Hello,so far from what i read and other sources crafting in this game will be kind of redundant.Simple Gather use ceate,no revolutionary economy,nothing like SWG crafting lvl you know...just simple,ok is great i guess but i was hoping for something more elavorated to give people and option from all the pvp that darkfall will have. So in the crafting side im verry disapointed.
It is after all and from what i understand a pvp game,incase i get close minded replys on how this game is pvp and not crafting,but have in mind without crafting on a pvp game like this might hurt the game. But ither way im looking forward darkfalls pvp but so far im disapointed at the crafting due to in there official post they said darkfall had a revolutionary economy or something like that. I was atracted mainly to darkfall due to its similaritys to SWG crafting wich is verry open for the user to creater hes unique things and compete with other crafters for the best product and service.
Hopefully in time they might change it...but so far its look as plane as Warhammer online crafting.
Note: dont say ither "go back to swg if you want to craft" couse SWG is dead and crafting is useles if you dont got anyone to sell it to...

Mine too.
I want to have only healing and support spells, tho.
Freedom should make it possible, but I don't really think it will.
In the end, everybody will be meele/archer, as I see right now.

I'm not fussed about revolutionary crafting systems. I just want items to break/degrade so there is an actual need to buy or make new ones and everything that entails.

Its verry simple.Nothing rong with it,just not appealing. Its preatty much a simple Gather mats Craft it and make something out of it. The problem lies there..if everyone has the same outcome its verry retarded. Ill explain
Lets say im making a long sword..
I gather mats make it and i get a +5 sword.
Another crafter player does the same thing...he gets another +5
So..how amy going to prove im better crafter than hem,if te outcome is allways the same.There is no unique stats for my effort to find better materials or anything.

Never seen a game yet that was close to SWG crafting. Bloodcraft do you mean there hope within Darkfall or are there other games?

I think the biggest Crafting feature for darkfall online is that every item in the game can be crafted. Put that with full loot PvP and you have a huge market

So tell me. In real life, to go gather resourches from a tree or a plant, do you need 5000 shovels and some mini game + a maze of complexity in order to succeed? No. Dont whine just because DF doesnt force you to be a rocket scientist to pull a plant out of the ground.
Oh and last time I checked, to craft something irl you need
Tools: Check
Resource: Check
What do you need to craft in DF?
Tools: Check
Resource: Check'

Hmm they said rare mats, There is also the ability to do trade caravans by yourself so that adds to the crafters life. It sounds like it will not be possible to mail your finished product and if the person who orders it is not factioned right for where you sell, then delivery will be a aspect of crafting unless you hire a delivery person. However the world being so huge......
As far as the quality of the item, with different mats, plus diff magic used to increase its abilities, it seems like a good crafter will be both a enchanting type caster skill set as well as the actual crafting skills set. Not to mention gathering sounds like it takes a while.

I had grand expectations like these, too, but have since lowered my standards.
Just imagine that Darkfall will be like Runescape. That way, when it gets released, you'll be happy despite how disappointed you should be.

Yes you would, have a huge market. But how do you think you could market it? It seems that there are no auction houses or trading caravans etc. You would have to yell at local chat every second.
