Darfkall Window just dissapears!
Hey all, I recently built a computer from scratch including a;
550Volt PSU
ATI 5750 1GB graphics card
I kept the old CPU, an Intels Core 2 Duo 2GHZ
and installed Windows Vista 32 Bit
Ever since then I have been getting random computer black outs, where the screen dissapears entirely, but the fans and power stay on, a restart is then required to fix this. However recently, (since I installed Darfkall), when I try starting the darkfall cient up, I get to the black screen just before the loading starts, and then it just disappears, entirely. Once, after reinstalling it, i got into the game for a few hours, before once again, this time in the middle of the game, disappearing again.
Im not sure if this problem I am having with Darkfall is anything to do with the computer blackouts, as when Darkfall disappears, the rest of the system is fine.
I really have no idea what could be causing it, Hardware, Software... I dont know.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I had a similar topic up not so many days ago: http://forums.darkfallonline.com/sho...d.php?t=219654 . Might get that black screen 2min after logging in (close to working bench) or more likely in the middle of fight.
Quite likely the reason for my blackouts was having the shader version PS_1 (or whatever it was) instead default. Haven't still tested if it really was the one setting to be blamed though.. but anyways 0 blackouts after resetting all the game settings.

Nah, I read your thread, i dont think the problem is similar. Mine just disappears when i get to the black screen just before the graphics that make up the loading screen appear.
I think it may have something to do with the actual computer black out problem I am having, even though when Darkfall disappears the rest of the comp is fine...
I more think it has something to do with the new ATI 5750, the new motherboard, the new Power supply OR the New 4Gb of RAM i bought and installed. I still have no idea which of these, but tomorrow a friend is going to bring his own RAM and GPU over to try and elliminate them as the problem, (or incriminate them, lol). Still if ANYONE here is relatively tech savvy, maybe they could have a think, and try to give me an Idea of what might be the problem...
P.S i "could" be software related, but ive reinstalled windows a few times, and only have the official hardware drivers + Darkfall installed at the moment, (+ firefox, U torrent, and a few other necessities of course)

If you cba to wait for tomorrow, you could start testing your RAM with HCI memtest ( http://hcidesign.com/memtest/ ) which runs in Windows, or make bootable cd for memtest86 ( http://www.memtest86.com/ ). Both are quite easy to use programs.
Or if you wanna rape test your graphics card then Video Card Stability Test could be handy ( http://freestone-group.com/video-car...ility-test.htm ).
For monitoring your CPU, GPU etc temperatures, fan speeds and such you could get Speedfan program ( http://www.almico.com/speedfan.php ).
Outside the game I did one comp raping test, which should rule out the overheating issues. Ran simultaneously HCI memtest for ram load, video card stability test for GPU load and also some processor loading program (Boinc manager) to see if it's maybe PSU related issue.
GL with your problem

Enough Wattage?
I'd double check that your Power Supply (PSU) and see if it has enough watts to cover what your PC needs.
I always recommend to people to calculate what you need and add 100-150 watts. Mostly if you miscalculate or want to add something more powerful later. Plus it's generally only 10 to 15 dollars more to get that.
Here is a very "general" tool to use to have an idea.
