Best Movies based on Video Games
I just saw the trailer for the new Prince of Persia movie. I don't know if it's going to be any good but it got me thinking about how transitions from video games to movies are always shit.
Anyways, what's everyone's favorite movies based on video games.
1. Mortal Kombat (Annihilation was terrible... TERRIBLE!)
2. Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (I liked the first one better than the sequel.)
Sadly, that's all I can think of.

There isn't a single movie based on a video game that I would call very good. But there are some like silent hill and tomb rider that are good.
Mortal Combat is a very bad movie, well I thought it was awesome when I was 10 though, so I guess I could call it good due to nostalgia.

That final fantasy movie was good, though it really had nothing to do with any of the games.

What exactly was bad about Mortal Kombat?
It followed the story (pretty much), had badass characters and fights, what more do you want?

Silent Hill would definately be the best IMO.
Thought the first resident evil wasn't to bad... after you watched it a few times.
I think the Mortal Kombat theme song was the best part of the MK movie, lol...

The only movie adaptation I've seen of a video game character was Super Mario Bros.. but that was so bad that I don't even want to call it an adaptation. I'm interested in the Bioshock movie they're making though, and Halo if they can get the damn thing going again. Everyone from Peter Jackson to Steven Spielberg are in those talks, but nothing has been done.
