4th of October: Apautan Sieged & lost to HK Style
Reports of 30+ Cairn invaded Apautan at 16.00 GMT+1 and declared siege on KGB. 4.5 hours later it was over. HK Style conquered the glorious city of Apautan in a blazing battle said to be the longest standoff in Darkfall history witnessed by even GM Nioku. The clan room was defended with vicious vengeance and it was impossible for The Nameless forces (40) together with Unknown Alliance (25), Graveyard Alliance (20) and Afghan Alliance (15) to break through the 2 doorways defended by HK Style & some Cairn (30-40). Brothers died like flies in the inferno of spells and it was painful to see.
The loss of Apautan is a slap in the face for Represent KGB who was ready to cash in a 130K deal with We Want War to sell Apautan as KGB is transferring to the NA server.
Originally, Yssam Raider was to buy Apautan singlehandedly, but decided a more sizeable partner would be appropriate for the future of the city. A handshake between Relick Montana (WWW) and Celiah Ailey (YR) secured the partnership needed for a prosperous future in the northeast. The cost and benefits were to be split 50/50 and ownership to be Apautan (WWW) and Ichtan (YR).
The deal, however, was forced to be annulled by KGB who put in a clause in the contract for We Want War in the city trade. They got a major price discount on the condition that Yssam Raider was not allowed to own Ichtan. This effectively blew apart all plans for Yssam Raider to secure a permanent home in the northeast. Or did it.
When asked how she feels, Celiah Ailey, Supreme General of Yssam Raider explains:
"The clause was rather unexpected for us and frankly, we were going to give up trying to acquire Ichtan in the near future. What a disappointment, the whole thing and then WWW parting friendship with us when they decided that they would rather live in the 2 holdings alone without sharing benefits and cost.
We decided we wouldn't go against the wishes of an ally, so back to square zero for us. However, moments before yesterday's siege KGB set our affiliation to Neutral because they feel my forum thread was the cause of the siege. I feel differently about that. Hello Kitty has been interested in Apautan since The Nameless had a non-siege agreement with them. Everybody knows that. Yesterday was apparantly a good time for them to strike to sort of get back at Represent KGB and The Nameless for driving them out of Yssam and their last remaining 2 holdings (Sunstone Island and Talpec). It is only a month ago Le Clan Neanias and KGB led an attack together with Unknown and Graveyard alliance on Hello Kitty. Unfortunate for us that we lost Apautan, we tried hard and had 100 players fighting on our side. I can't imagine the losses KGB suffered with all those mercenaries being hired and people dieing. Well, it was a strike of vengeance brought upon ourselves in my opinion. We overextended when we nutcupped at Sunstone Island. My forum thread had nothing to do with it. The strike of vengeance was bound to come at some point and now that it is over with we can all move on. Good fight, Hello Kitty, and welcome back to the island. I think KGB setting us to neutral was rather silly. Probably a desperate move to blame the attack on us.
However, this does change our plans and hopes for the future. It isn't unlikely to think that Ichtan could be sieged by the new lords of Apautan and then sold for the right price. So maybe there is after all happy days to be seen for the Raiders of the northeast!"
