Us Canadians call it the correct term, pop. But I've heard retards call it "soda".

Soda reminds me of soda water moreso than Pepsi or Sprite.. If I need to me more general, I'd probably use pop or soft drink. Otherwise by brand name.

In Washington we call it pop, ever since I moved here I've hated the term. I moved here from Massachusetts when I was 10, I mostly just call it by name now or say soda and only occasionally do I say pop.
Calling a root beer a coke is pretty stupid, imo.
