Ah but this is the rub isn't it? Both the Democrats and Republicans like to pick and choose which parts of the Constitution they like. Can't we have a new Constitution Party that respects 100% of the document?

ne·o·con·ser·va·tism also ne·o-con·ser·va·tism (n-kn-sûrv-tzm)
n.
An intellectual and political movement in favor of political, economic, and social conservatism that arose in opposition to the perceived liberalism of the 1960s:

Neoconservatism is a political philosophy that emerged in the United States. Its key distinction is in international affairs, where it espouses an interventionist approach that seeks to defend what neo-conservatives deem as national interests.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neoconservative

Basically christian fundies who want to go back to the 1950's when women and blacks had limited rights, homosexuality was considered a mental disease. They also want to intervene and think America is the best ever and should have an empire.

Through the 1950s and early 1960s the future neoconservatives had been socialists or liberals strongly supportive of the American Civil Rights Movement, integration, and Martin Luther King, Jr..

she is because of who would pull her strings...

neocons are here (http://www.newamericancentury.org/statementofprinciples.htm)

the signatories are at the bottom of the linked page, and their articles start in 96 (wishing for a "pearl harbor for an excuse to invade Iraq) to now with every vile bit of venom spewed by Kristol and Krauthammer...among others

i highly doubt you are really this naive, yet each of your pieces of agitprop are crude and amateurish at best

get rid of neocons and theocons, actually embrace ALL of the Constitution and be willing to enforce the Laws for everyone...that would get the GOP at least taken seriously again

but i give long odds that it will be at least 10 years before anything like that even gets hinted at seriously...not counting liars giving such lip service, of course

oh yes...history of the neocons..university of Chicago, Leon Strauss

he's the Founder, and taught Wolfowitz and others...Wolfowitz later joined the university and taught Scooter Libby and others

again, check the names at the bottom of the page i linked...it's all there

well I can vote and I have every election since I turned 18 (meaning local elections every year).

To get my vote republicans needs to do 4 things

end the patriot act the single worst thing any president has done ever.

stop making the government bigger, the federal government was intended as the skeleton that kept all the states playing nicely together it was not intended for 90% of its current functions.

end the war on drugs (i have never used any thing ever). But like the 16th amendment it has caused nothing but problems, make it legal in certain areas and tax the shit out of it...like cigarettes and booze...

and the 2nd most important thing (after ending the patriot act...) is to let people (and businesses) fail.

They need to stop interfering with the markets, I’m tired of republicans saying the same thing the democrats are saying about what we need to do about the failing markets. They need to stop policing the world, and stay the hell out of the nation building business. They need to end their moral war on society, you cant say what you want on the radio, the T.V, etc.

They need to end the war on drugs, and they need to stay the hell out of peoples business about what they want to put in their bodies. They need to get rid of the patriot act, and not support anyone who is for similar legislation. They need to respect the rule of law in this country and support our constitution.

This is a major factor in the reason I will most likely never vote for them. If they stopped being the party of religious nuts and neocons.

This, the majority of Republicans now are a bunch of racist evangelicals and neo-conservatives, the only real Republican that was there was Ron Paul and he was a fiscal conservative ( look it up if you don't understand it for the sake of me not ranting at you ) but they actually had the idiocy to go and denounce the poor sod practically because he was the only person speaking out against the Federal Reserve who are the real cause of this mess we are all in now and talk about peace and freedom instead of blowing up the next country that would have even a drop of oil in it.

1) Stop playing the politics of fear. Reagan it was the Commies, Bush sr it was war on drugs, Bush jr it was terrorism. Stop saying that if you vote democrat the big bad meanies are gonna come and kill your babies and eat them.
2) Personal responsibility. Become the party of responibility and stop blaming everybody else for your failures.
3) Step back from religion. There is nothing wrong with having a personal faith, but there is a reason for seperation of church and state.
4) Stop feeding the military industrial complex. They are wasting taxpayer dollars with 'cost plus' contracts, underbiding then overcharging, and basically taking the taxpayer for a ride.
5) Stop privatizing the military. It costs more taxpayer dollars.
6) Don't just talk about helping vets, do it. How many times have republican politicians voted against getting armour or healthcare benifits for troops? Its a hell of a lot. Even McCain who says all vets support him has a horrible rating from national vet organizations.
7) Talk about policy during campaigns instead of personal attacks on the other guy.
8) Stop using mercenaries.
9) Stop hating gays.
10) Quit with your war against abortion unless you're going to adopt every child.
11) Embrace national healthcare as its cheaper for taxpayers and everybody is covered.
12) Actually enforce regulations instead of ignoring them or getting rid of them. They are there for a reason.
13) Stop signing treaties and then talk about how your going to ignore them anyway. (Iraq SOFA)
14) Stop disenfranchising the poor so they can't vote.
15) Trickle down does not work, stop saying it does.
16) Stop tax loopholes for the rich. Let them pay their fair share, no more, no less.
17) Stop giving tax breaks to corporations making more than a billion dollars a year and focus more on small businesses.
19) Stop violating the Constitution to eavesdrop on every single American.
20) Close Guantanimo.
21) Stop propping up dictators just because they have resources we want.
22) Have an open government. We have every right to know what the hell you are doing behind closed doors. (other than obvious national security issues, I'm talking about domestic policy)
23) Close the School of the America's. (Google it)
24) Act in a truely bipartisian manner for the good of the country not just your donors. Don't say you'll act that way then refuse to and blame the democrats for it.
25) Admit you killed JFK and tell us where Jimmy Hoffa is.

To be fair some of that falls on democrats too, but still.

They need to respect the rule of law in this country and support our constitution.

lol yea pretty much, you sound like a libertarian

For those who absolutely can't vote for them right now, what would they have to do to win your vote(if at all possible)? I know for many the religious right component is a deal breaker, for others the war on drugs, etc...

the war on drugs is FUCKING RETARDED, i did my research paper on prison reform, and learned that the recent SPIKE in prison inmates was due to druggies getting locked up, even though drug therapy has been proven to be VASTLY more effective at curbing drug abuse. And why the fuck does america care what teenagers shoot up in their body in the first place!?

And, I'm going to give out a bias here, I was hindu (am now a buddhist? dunno, I guess my religion is basically "not islam or christianity") and the fact that the republican party catered to the religious right put me on the offensive against them even though i didn't really have a reason to not like them. I mean, I'm not for socialistic economy policies, I think we need to find a balance b/w what the dems push for (regulation/redistribution) and what the reps push for (free market/capatilism). But what i DO KNOW is "conservativeness" in social issues is ABSOLUTELY RETARDED. The reps push for social control and they are apparently the party of "small government"

The repubs are NOT the party of small government for a while now... they are the party of complete government control. If you want a non-self serving political party you're going to have to look Independent, which people are completely unwilling to do.

i think folks are more than willing...

as soon as they get a realistic candidate as an Independent with national recognition that doesn't appear as an obvious throw away vote

haven't had it since Teddy Roosevelt and the Bull Moose Party

i'm just sayin'...

See, everybody says this... but what exactly is a throwaway vote? If you vote Independent, you make it more likely that other people will as well, by raising the percentage of Independent votes, and by talking to people about politics. Whenever someone asks you who you voted for and you say "XXX of the XXX Party", your spreading awareness of that party. I know for a fact that almost no one in my school knew about the Libertarian Party until I told them, and guess how I found out about it? Talking to my neighbor about politics. Thanks to my neighbor, a lot more people are aware of an independent party, and maybe they'll vote for it if Obama screws up badly. Even if they don't, maybe they'll tell someone else about it.

The "lesser evil" doesn't need your vote. Every time you vote for a mainstream political party you're perpetuating the problem with or current system, unless you truly agree with the candidates ideals. Voting for a lesser evil is just helping the evil, lesser or not, in the long run.

it's not a matter of "party"...it's a matter of the piss poor candidates those current fringe parties put up for office...and that they appear to want to start at the top, with the Presidency...rather than from the beginning with school board seats, town councils...mayors and the like

Nadar, Bob Barr...you think any of these third party candidates can be taken anywhere near seriously?

such a candidate has to be blatantly and obviously better than the two mainstream parties' offerings to have any chance, and anything less won't make a dent in the public consciousness
