Hey there.
I recently discovered Lego Mindstorm NXT, and I can't wait to have my own box. Essentially, it's a set of sensors, servomotors, and a "brain" so you can build your own lego robots, and program them yourself as well. Here are some examples of what can be done from lego pieces and the "basic" mindstorm set:
Rubik cube solving bot (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5fAn5A0HbhU)
Joystic-controlled cannon (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ykNbYUJrfdc&NR=1)
Autonomous sumo bots (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aRY6Y8OrZFk&feature=related)
So, I'm really, really excited about this. I plan on studying robotics once I'm done with industrial engineering, and I wanted to start building stuff, but I was worried about being forced to spend a lot of money. This looks like the perfect alternative, if you get tired of your robot, just make some blueprints so you can rebuild later and start another one from scratch!
So, I came here to see if any of you knew this before. If you have one of those, I'd love to hear your experiences. Is it worth it? Any advice you'd like to give me?
Thanks!
