How do you find the game S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow Of Chernobyl?

What do you think of this game? It is 5 bucks on steam this weekend, is why I ask.

Is the multiplayer good, or will I play it once and return to CS/TF2? I'd only want it for multiplay probably.

It's an okay game and when I say okay I mean 'okay' the graphics on it cause the framerates to drop quite a bit especially on the unpatched version.

What I wouldn't play though is Clear Sky, fucking despise that game, the main reason being that you get grenades magically spammed at you even when your ducked behind cover and the NPCs seem to have tons of them.

Was good, but bugged as fuck. I guess they've pretty much fixed it now, though.

Cool concept, but I hated the implementation. By that I mean the zones, I was expecting a true open world but apparently my character is scared of 3 feet of barbed wire.

Yeah i'd really suggest you get STALKER, it's cheap now and while i never actuley tried the multiplayer (i assume CSS & TF2 have much better multiplayer) the singleplayer was fantastic, and had a great atmosphere and i loved it, one of my favourite games actuley, and it's very long so i'd suggest you get it for that alone.

Either way, it's a great game, graphics a little outdated but if you can look past that, there's a enjoyable singleplayer game :sly:

The atmosphere is on the level of Deus Ex, the inventory system isn't too shabby either. Storyline is good, the multiple endings rock too, the game is made out of pure WIN.

I enjoyed it, I didn't find it very buggy, perhaps slightly linear as the guy who mentioned the barbed wire said. Worth a fiver :)

if all you want is multiplayer then STALKER is not for you.
