Hey guys,
Ok hear me out before you flame the hell out of me. For those of you have Vanguard accounts, all former accounts have been reactivated until the 31st of January.
I'm bringing this up cause I haven't seen any news item in emails, etc, that annouced this to old players, and because I'd like to see a lot of people come back and try out the game.

I found this while looking for somehting to do while waiting for release, hope to see you guys in game at least for awhile.

Never tried it, never will. Heard so much bad about it, that it seemed pointless to test it.

Sorry, after they butchered Pre-Cu SWG which I played for two years I will not buy any of their games or endorse any of their products.
In fact, I'm making sure they lose as much money as possible just like with EA.

Sony annoyed me with Home. Firstly it sucks. Secondly they're trying to charge me real money for virtual items but apart from that i quite like sony..
EA generaly suck but fifa is my favorite game for now os i dont mind them either.

Sony did it to themselves mainly by pissing off their customers.
I have to admit I played a reasonably big part in the EA one though with Spore because they tried hiding their contempt for their customers, I went around the fansites and official sites posting about SecuROM and the activations they were putting onto the software.
It seems like most of the players were planning on pirating the damn piece of crap anyway so I just think I only justified their response even more.

Also, sweet, if I cancel my account, I can play for free until January? :D I was about to cancel anyway. The game is lightyears better than it was, and easily its the best PvE MMO out there right now, and the closest thing to a sandbox. However, I'm quitting almost ALL of my games this month :P

Also, sweet, if I cancel my account, I can play for free until January? :D I was about to cancel anyway. The game is lightyears better than it was, and easily its the best PvE MMO out there right now, and the closest thing to a sandbox. However, I'm quitting almost ALL of my games this month :P

As vessol already posted it was Published by SOE and they had a lot of control over the game, there was even an interview to an ex-sigil when they got taken over about how the SOE employees were taken over and constantly muscled in on how they thought the game should be made.
After they were taken over they were basically taken out to the car park and told they were fired by some representative.

This is true,people are basing their info of Vanguard on 2 years ago. It`s a very good game and i say to anyone who has not tried it and wants to kill time waiting for DF to try it.
It`s a free trail and if you had an account when it first release you will find that you can log in.
Anyone who tried Vanguard and has an account can log in until the 31st of jan 09 ..FREE of charge.
PVP server ios quiet and has about 300 players but it`s fun. If you want to try a normal server then you can still pvp with the new arena patch.
Like it or not, SOE fixed vanguard, and thats why I think you, you know who you are, can QQ more.
EA has good games.
SoE has good games.
Blizzard has good games.
If you don't want to play them, fine. Acting up like your a fucking crusader serves no fucking purpose. But ofcourse, we already know that you suffer frome "I'm better then everyone else" complex.

Try reading up on your damn gaming history, the majority of these companies you talk about either bought out the developers that made the games they own and stuck their own label on it or they took the rights of the whole game and did the exact same thing.
It's not crusading at all, it's called fucking common sense and there is no way I will EVER buy or play something that I don't find fun no matter how much badly spelled and written fanboism is shoved down my throat.

Sigil made the game, and they continue working on it. They were bought by Sony, but only a few Sony devs got assigned to it.
I doubt it has much to do with the quality of some certain games, it's the way they have often broken games in pursuit of more profit then anything.
Oh I know that, infact I have my very own experience, I just don't take it personaly.

It's still not an Indie game, as publishers SoE still controls them and influences which direction the game goes, they're the ones holding the cash and making the cash from subscriptions.

Sorry but that's also bullshit, the majority of the devs got fired and Brad Mcquaid or whatever his name is buggered off after selling out to them it was in an interview.

Hope it doesn't take that long, I had to completely re-download the entire game and it only took about 3 hours for the 19.2 gigs.
Pointless to say, but I will anyway. Instead of trolling about the game, try it out. For those that already have the game collecting dust, you can have the full version to use again for free till the end of January, which is also when Darkfall releases.

Hm, if I'm not busy I may get on and kill you. Assuming my characters are still there anyways, I still remember going invisible and murdering everyone who came into the bank.

Well, my characters were still there from April 07.
But as soon as I was in it was like, 'Oh man, I can't get back into this shit again'.

Oh, you're A PvPer? You'd be best staying the hell away from Vanguard still. PvP gets no attention. Same as before.

I have no doubt you would and could, since as I already said, my bard is about as usefull as a turd, except a turd would acctualy scare some things away.
Infact, I haven't killed a single person yet, but been killed by others about 5 times already, ofcourse 3 out of 5 of those was by higher lvls, but even soo, a druid could one hit me (and moast others) with starfall. PvP is realy a steaming pile of shit, but it adds excitement at least to know that there are people out there who al want to kill me, soo I stay on the FFA.

Man i used to kill people quite a lot, as a PSIONIST at release.
That says a lot about my masochistic pvp skills

Heh, you should've tried a Sorcerer at release. They were fucking absurd. Even ignoring the whole invis thing, where you could just wait at places people would have lots of money and murder them, there was also the AoE spam... I remember one time I went into the low (15? 20?) level insect dungeon (the one with the four and five dots in a cave, near the river) and found two full parties inside not killing each other for some reason. They were so close together that I got them all inside ten seconds...
Then again, overall Disciples were nastier. Basically you couldn't lose PVP with one until they patched them, it was probably to make up for how badly they sucked in alpha/beta. Although I didn't play mine so much since while you couldn't lose until the patch, you also rarely won since everyone just ran off.

I think almost every class had a time when it was way overpowered. I remember for a while, my bard was pretty much invincible with invis song dot kiting. They'd be dead before they knew what hit them! (songs didn't require line of sight)

Wrong, you have to remove about 14 gigs, until you download the trial, in which case its only 4 gigs.
I love all these people who join a PvE game with a tacked on FFA server and then complain when it isn't the focus on the tiny dev team, and complain that it sucks.
