E-peen contest or flamefest, I have no clue how bad this will end up. Poll soonish.

Oh and lets just say that you must have at least played a game for 2houers and watched somone else played it for a few houers OR played it for 5+ houres for it to count. (save portal etc ofcourse).

I'm trying to write down al the games I have played (nearly impossible) and well I started to wonder how bad it realy was.

Both PC and Console games count, including handheld. Oh and no game mods (unless they are accepted as a game themself like CS, DotA etc).

A bare minimum of over 9000+.

Jeez I have no idea...after so many rentals of PSX games I probably wouldn't even know where to start.

I'd say 100 is probably a fairly reasonable estimate when it all adds up, though.

I'll do a rough count later and then vote. I'm probably going to put 100 or less, though.

I'm gonna start listing for my benefit and will get back to it in a subsequent post:
FF5-12 (8 games)
FFX-2
Jade Cocoon and sequel
Chrono Trigger
Chrono Cross
Sims 1 and 2
Civ III and IV
FIFA 2003
WoW
EVE
Rise of Nations
Rise of Legends
The first Spyro game on PSX
DK64
Mario Party
Ocarina of Time
A Link to the Past
Metroid Prime 1 and 3
Starcraft (SC64 and BW don't count)
Diablo 2
Stronghold
SimCity 4
SimCity 2000
SimCity DS
Suikoden IV
LotR: RotK
Heroes of Might and Magic: Quest for the Dragonbone Staff
Sims Bustin' Out
Sims: Urbz
Roller Coaster Tycoon
C&C, RA, and Renegade
Breath of Fire I and III
Super Mario Bros. 1, Super Mario World, Super Mario Sunshine, Super Mario Galaxy
Super Smash Bros. and sequels
Mario Party 1, 2, and 3
Mario Kart 64
FF Crystal Chronicles
Harvest Moon, Friends of Mineral Town, and AWL
Phantasy Star Online
TimeSplitters and TS2
Sword of Mana, Secret of Mana, Seiken Densetsu 3, and Legend of Mana
Deathtrap Dungeon (sad that it was so awful that I remember it)
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 and 2
Star Ocean
UT 2k4
Goldeneye 007
GTA 2 and 3
G Darius
FFTA and sequel
Beyond Protocol
Dreamlords
Dynasty Tactics 1 and 2

Total: 82

I'll stop here for now; here's the point where it starts getting hard for me to think of more. That's probably around the number of GOOD games that I have played.

After about 15 years of going through every console and the PC with hundreds of chipped games and bought ones... I can safely say at least 1000. I didn't play them all completely, or even like them all, though.

Too many. I'm not sure of the amount. Picked that option, because the more games you play, the more critical you become regarding different games' quality.

Well, a lot of us have been gaming all of our lives. I didn't entirely read the answers and assumed it said '300 or more' and that "Too Many" was kind of a joke option. How could you play too many video games?!

I guess it's a mather of view. I view the "too many" option as too many to possibly be able to count them frome there on.

Adding a few more:
Dragon Quest VIII (the one that came with the FFXII demo)
Dragon Warrior Monsters 2
Pokemon Red Version
Pokemon Silver Version
Kinetica
Star Ocean 2
Xenogears
Legend of the Dragoon
Legend of Legaia
Armored Core 2, Armored Core 2: Another Age (a standalone expansion so I think that counts), and Armored Core 3
Megaman Legends 1 and 2
The Misadventures of Tron Bonne
Monster Rancher 3 and 4
Parasite Eve
Mario Tennis
Wii Sports
Tales of Symphonia
Tales of Phantasia
Tekken Tag Tournament (and I think at least one before that)
Threads of Fate
At least two Twisted Metal games
Vagrant Story
Valkyrie Profile
Skies of Arcadia: Legends

Crappy but memorable games (recognized them immediately on a list of PSX games while others came to mind after noticing predecessors):
At least one fishing game on the PSX
At least one Bomberman game
Chocobo Racing
One of the Digimon World games
Devil Dice
Gauntlet Legends and Dark Legacy

New total: 118

So yeah, after reading through a list of 1200 PSX games and mentioning all that I recognized, this is probably about all the games I've played that didn't just suck so hard that I can't even remember playing it at all. So 150 or less is probably my best bet; if I broke 150, it's probably not by much.

Agge

For the record, I guess I pretty much started on NES myself, but I played some commande keen befor that at a friends house on his fathers personal computer machine.

As for a total...

Well, only counting games I can acctualy remember anything frome once somone mention their name, I guess I land somewhere around 300 or less.

We'll see we'll see.

I plan on putting comments on the huge list once I'm done with it and maybe some kind of sign to show if they are worth digging up even to this day etc.

But if you are gonna count every single game I have ever played, I mean I was soo damn young back then... I instaled more then a couple of games using floppy discs, we had to be 2 people to be remotely be able to play unreal (on one pc). Well, then I'll just make a random estimate at 500 tops.

(nearly impossible)

I think that sums it up. I would have to start with C-64/atari and eveyother day there would be something new added. If I had to put a (guess) number I would go with 11k+. It might be alittle more accurate if it was just pc or console, but even then there is a shit ton of games on either one.

Jinpachi

Way too many, even though I tend to play a particular game for a very long time, and have spent long parts of my life barely playing anything. I think most people here who's over 20 years old must have played over 300 games over five hours each.

Man, asking such stuff in a geek comunity is kinda lame... I have been playing games since I was 3, and now I am 22... Count a minimum of 3 hours a day gaming...

EDIT: For a vague estimate, between 2005 and 2006 I played 112 games... (I have all the saves of the games I played that period :D)

Let me put it this way. Someone once asked me to list all the RPGs I'd played, I stopped around 220, and that was what I recalled without going and looking through my collection. I can say with certainty I own copies of over 500 games, and I may have played as many as twice that. Your poll does not go sufficiently high.

I was considering myself if NES games and older should count, but since some of them are as epic as super mario I couldn't remove them as an option. Still, I think it's a comodore (sp?) a friends father got and more then a few discs of what I would call mini games.

Golden eye, perfect dark, secret of mana 2, a link to the past, supersmash bros etc etc. I don't see how this is a bad thing. Probebly the two consoles with the best games ever.

220 rpgs? Man those must have sucked moast of them, hell a standard RPG for me takes at the very least 40 houers of my time.

And yes, apearently it didn't wich pleases me, now I feel alot better about myself. I might make other version later on though with more option and possibly other restrictions.

You should have limited to NES and later, that misses relatively few great games. Although it still includes a lot of crap like the 7up game and such. However, most of that trash occurred on the Atari.

Eh, a lot of them were just obscure or fan translated, but yeah some definitely sucked. On the other hand, a lot of obscure ones were also excellent games.

Like I said earlier, don't include Atari games and the like. I suppose you could also not include NES games, but there are a lot of classics on there. Whereas Atari only had a few like Pitfall. Still, limiting it to games made after 1990 or so would remove a lot of the trash like advertisement games.

Next time I will and increase the amounts in the poll I guess. 220 role playing games realy sounds like much regardless, like at least 50% of the once I have played/bought I have liked alot wich ment that I probebly spent 100 houers pluss on each, I probebly wasted 300-400 houers on Oblivion+FFX.
