You mean the cinematic? They usually are pretty good, but it reveals so little. But it';s a Bioware game so it should be good.

Bioware games halve in play-through time with every new title though. Mass effect was like 8 hours.

Won't be multiplayer. If I can't enjoy these great adventures with my RL friends in co-op (a feature they were able to handle 10 years ago). Then my moneyz aint for them.
Also. That cinematic starts out with an extravaganza assholes logo. Nuff said.

I don't think that video will have anything to do with the gameplay.. just a way for it to look good.

Wait a second.... You and Fred are back to being friends again?
It's always the same with you two. I wonder what mischief you'll be up to next

A game cannot be the spiritual successor to Baldur's Gate without at least one of the following spells: Melf's acid arrow, Abu-Dazim's horrid wilting, Mordekainen's sword and Aganazzars scorcher.
Serouisly, though, the actual gameplay looks pretty much like crap besides the gameplay of Baldur's Gate and the other infinity engine games. Spell combos looks a bit neat, though.
I wonder if it uses DnD rules at all...

Am I the only one getting bored of Bioware games who have the same damn story all the time, I wish they'd try something innovative for once.

It doesn't. And again. No co-op. eat my shorts Bioware for leaving out such a key feature.

Wow, seems like even more suckage than expected, then.
I actually cringed a little every time the guy in the narrated walkthrough (on youtube) said "Dark heroic fantasy, we're not pulling any punches", "You are the Hero" and "See the action"

I am watching the game, but I really do not like how much the GUI looks like a MMO game...
What does interest me is the decision making will hopefully offer alot more gray choices then just the black and white variety. Combat looks interesting but its hard to say.
Definately like the idea of magic spells playing off each other, like casting a slippery grease spell then igniting it with a fire spell.
Spritual successor to Baldur's gate also makes me sit up, though i doubt it will be... but no one else is making that claim
Cinematic was aweful imo... To much LotR 'ish.
Edit: I would like to see a fantasy game like Baldur's Gate be really difficult with instead of throwing all these hordes of guys have more single type combat against a really dangerous and terrifying oppenent... And make it vary dark and gritty.

If it has a plot and character interaction as good as Baldur's Gate's, then I'll buy it, even if the combat is absolute shit. Honestly, once you learned to mechanics behind Baldur's Gate's combat, it was boring and repetetive. It was everything else that kept it moving.

Was Mass Effect not different enough?
Edit: From other BioWare games that is, not standard cliche storylines

Style, name, and music are all extremely generic.
I'm sure it will do well.

Tottally underwhelmed by this game. Same old RPG tactics in a World of warcraft view with baldur's gate combat. WTB innovation, this game is going to be a snooze fest. The combat looks so bad too, good story and interesting characters don't suffice in a video game. Maybe they should just make it a book instead. Their gameplay is stale and in need of being reinvented, and will be why I do not buy or play it.

Well, BGII I believe was mainly developed by Bioware, as Black Isle was more the publisher.'
I could be wrong though.

It isn't just you, they've basically used the same retarded storyline since kotor 1, the only real original storyline they've come up with is the Baldurs Gate series and Neverwinter Nights even then they were based off the D&D universe.
Bioware isn't Bioware anymore though your going to see a lot of cloning going on as EA desperately try to milk the company for all it is worth. One thing I've been INCREDIBLY pissed about when it comes to these publishing companies is that they deliberately ride on the successes of the development companies they've bought even when they had absolutely no influence in the games that were created. They did it with westwood and they'll do it with Bioware, EA are desperately trying to get people to believe in their corporate machine.
Blizzard have done this as well with World of Warcraft, from what I remember it wasn't even them that officially made the game, it was Vivendi and the current Blizzard didn't even make Diablo 2 if I recall correctly.
In short, Dragon Age will be shit and if it won't be shit, it will be mediocre.

No, the Warcraft series was Blizzard, I'm sure of it. Vivendi I don't believe came into the picture till WC3 I think. Warcraft however IS a rip from the Warhammer series. They originally wanted to do a Warhammer game.
Also, EA does retain some of it's developers from the company originally. THere are still Bioware devs in Bioware, and haven't all been fired.
However, Westwood, they fired the lot pretty fast. Not sure why.
