How to open a sealed envelope stealthily?

I need to open a sealed envelope and then re-seal it after. A couple minutes of googling tells me that you put it in the freezer for a couple hours and then try to open it, but that seems like it was intended for an envelope that you just sealed a minute ago and forgot to put something into, not one that's been sealed for a while. Surely forumfall has an armchair delinquent that can give me a good method for this.

A steam iron does do the trick dont touch the metal to the envelope and try to slowly peel it apart. Takes practice but works.

Use a plastic sheet or something to avoid getting too much steam on the rest of it.

Then carefully open the envelope.

Btw brushing the sealed area with benzene will work...sure it is toxic, but it would work.

Unless it is recorded delivery or delivered in person, just open the letter read it then destroy it.
