This is what I posted in my clan forums.

How did the day go for all my friends? My day went pretty shitty. I stayed up in my bed for 5 hours last night, and finally took a pill (prescribed) to help me sleep. I woke up about 5 hours later, bought a Monster energy drink and started on a 2 hour drive from Tucson (college) to Phoenix (home). I finished the energy drink about an hour of the way down to Phoenix.

I am almost there and all of a sudden my whole body starts to tingle and I had a lot of trouble breathing. If I had to describe the feeling, it felt like my heart was exploding. I didn't know what to do so pulled over by a highway patrol officer and told him I was feeling very sick. I explained to him the medication I was on (anti-depressants and the pills to help me sleep). He called the paramedics and then arrested me.

After my heart finally stabilized in the hospital, the police officer told me I was under arrest for driving under the influence (DUI) and gave me a court date on December 30th. He also told me that (because I live in Arizona - the fucking worst place to ever get a DUI in) I might have to to jail time - up to 10 days for a first time offense.

It gets better.

I am waiting in the hospital to see the doctor, and right when he gets there my heart starts going nuts again. My whole body goes numb, I can't move anything, my heart feels like it is about to explode. I was told my heart beats per minute got close to 275 beats per minute. 60-100 is average. After three failed attempts at slowing my heart with this one medicine (which fucking hurt) administered through an IV, they gave me two options.

1. They can put me to sleep and shock my heart, which would hopefully restore normal rhythm.
2. Give me a different medicine administered through an IV that would act slowly - about 15-20 minutes.

I couldn't really decide because of how scared I was, so I told the doctors to do what they thought was best. They chose option 2. For about 15 minutes my heart rate was through the wall, and all I could do was sit there and suffer. Numb, paralyzed, and a criminal. Finally my heart rate dropped.

After all that happened, my doctor called the police officer who had arrested and charged me to explain the situation. The officer refused to let the charges go, because I was acting unnatural.

No shit. My heart almost exploded.

After being in the hospital for 8 hours, I was finally discharged. Luckily, I'm fine now. I just can't ever drink anything caffeinated ever again.

If you need energy drinks, there is something else wrong with your lifestyle.. like your diet or your sleeping habits. Energy drinks arent a cure for those problems though.

I find that a litre of water in the morning keeps me alert for a long time, whenever I feel low on energy I know I need to eat or sleep. simple as.

Only reason I did it was because
1) I worked during teh day, My Girlfriend spent teh day on the beach, site seeing etc
2) I only had evenings free so would spend all night with here 9Bars, clubs Bedroom you ge the picture) get up in morning after amybe 1 hours sleep
