So I Got Suspended From School Today...

Pretty much everyone laughed at the speaker when she went into detail about her supposed "date rape" but as she said, she was the one that went to the party, got intoxicated and went upstairs. She also included how she became pregnant and got an abortion but that was pretty silent. You may know her as one of those fundies who march on the state capital (in my case, Ottawa) demanding the out law of abortion.

Back to my story. Now some kid was talking about abortion for his presentation and during prayer I said let's pray that abortion remains legal for all who want it. My teacher then kicks me out and sends me to the office. She didn't like what I said since I always debated about how we shouldn't have to provide for everyone and against her christian views merged with liberalism that created one ugly fuck.

Now I'm at the office and some kid who was in before me started swearing at the principal and bolted out, proceeding to punch one of the office windows.
The principal naturally takes it out on me and other kids who were there and issued suspensions without even hearing our god damn stories. The pissed off kid's brother then came in and nearly punched my principal out as he just barged into the front office as well as the principal's office.

After all is said and done, the principal brings me into his office and said that I should switch to public if I didn't hold his views. This is my last year at that school so I'm not taking his advice. Anyways, he told my parents that I blurted it out in class and how I was advocating the death of all unborn babies as he said it.

Now here I am with a 2 day suspension telling you loyal forumfallers this story

i was once expelled from a christian school for throwing a skittle. No joke. but there was more.

I never believed in half of the stuff they taught(yes i do believe in God, but that doesnt mean i believe in religion). Infact we couldnt have school dances because it was immoral. But i didnt fight this, i mean im not stupid, you in a position where there is a higher power who has his own beliefs, purposely voicing your opinion in a rude way is not a good thing to do.

After all you are in their school. I always challenged their beliefs but never did it in a rude and obnoxious way, which "lets pray for abortion to be legal" would be an example. Its just not courteous. That would be IRL trolling to me.

Anyways i was expelled when, after several... several trips to the office for miniscual things built up. The last straw was me and a friend throwing skittles at eachother. I had the bag from lunch, i threw one and hit him in the face. he got mad and threw one at me but missed and hit a girl in the knee. This chick told on me, saying i did it, and when they searched my backpack they found the skittles. When my father came they said i threw it at her face and then screamed check my bag if you think i did it... Well the principle told my father that the teacher called my bluff and found it.

i was appauled at this, i was like wtf. they just lied to my dad to get rid of me. and even worse they are supposed to be out to help people but basically gave up on me.

Funny story i once got stabbed in teh eye with a pencil on accident and got sent to the office for disrupting the class. Lol the only way i could get to the nurse.

Basically you gotta realize that your not in a position to voice your opinion or your rights in school, whether christian or public.

If you want to change this, dont worry about ur rights and beliefs now, just study as hard as u fuckin can and only worry about that. That way u can change it when your older.

The founding fathers of your country forged the separation of Church and State for good reasons. You shouldn't have to hold Christian views to be free in a "free country", or even in a "Christian country". There should be no educational or legal law that forces you to take part in any religious practice.

Lol I quoted exactly why I think you were out of line, the idiot teacher wasn't praying at all, she was preaching her religious views along with a speaker, it wasn't praying at all. Not only that schools like this should be fucking shut down because they are against freedom of speech I have never seen such religious hypocrisy in months, religions are constantly preaching about how everyone should be open minded of other peoples views and yet these people were blatantly going against their own beliefs by talking him down.

Well I should re-phrase myself, the decent religions that allow themselves to be corrected say that everyone should be open minded towards other religious views, the laws of the entire country and the silly rules of a fucking small building are two very different things.

Meh. Love living in Greece. In my days in school, religion/social education classes where my dummy dolls. Anything from pro capital punishment arguments (in a country that has banned it) to gay extremination, and a greek revival of the KKK was brought out of my mouth, leaving proffesors and students equally aghast, and me simply amusing myself. It is funny that every other day I supported another anti-humanitarian idea, just for the fun of it, and simply nobody noticed that the vast majority of my arguments where defeating each other. I remember the only time I was brought to the "director's office" was when I started swearing against gay people, and that was not for the idea expressed, but for the seer fact that I was swearing like a tortured ping fed with feces.

I've gotta have some input on this thread because people do not seem to understand the Ontario Education system.

In Ontario, the only difference between Catholic Schools and Public schools is that Catholic Schools demand you to take one religion course a year and go to mass on holidays (xmas, easter) basically an assembly with minor praying.

That being said one of the religion courses you must take is WORLD religions. That's right you have to learn about islam, judaism, native spirituality, hinduism and all other kinds. Half of the kids in my class were atheists, and I recall a bunch of muslims, jews and even a sikh(sp?) in my class. As you can see this is not your average Catholic School.

Most people believe that Catholic school is very strict and want to instill their beliefs on you. This is just not the case in Ontario and probably most of Canada, save Quebec cuz they wanna be different.

Having said all that OP you really should not be suspended for saying what you did unless you were being a Jackass about it. By the way what school do you go to, I went to All Saints.
