WARCRY (http://df.warcry.com/)
Make sure you go there. They have plans to allow guilds to have their own forums! They have a poll up now if people would use em. VOTE YES!! It's a sweet and generous idea!

Hopefully guilds have their own webpages and forums.. otherwise they aren't really a guild but instead just some group that would disappear in a week.

So whats the point of making another one on Warcry?

I would link the forum to my website so I dont have to pay for one.

The idea I think is for new clans to have a place to talk outside the game

I will definitely use the forums over there, I am having problems with my phpbb2 forums currently...

from my understanding there is ingame boards and u can use them when your not in the game also. i could be wrong but thats the way i took it

I agree with everyone else... except CAT and maybe Pumpkin (shoulda been moved to the trash bin :))

Eh, screw having more forums to check. I got my clan forums, and this one. Why bother with anything else?

Why anything else? Get your clan's name even further out in the Darkfall community .. silly.

Thanks for the comments guys B)

That's actually why I held this off for a bit: I thought that the devs may integrate clan forums into the official site, but alas, they did not. I'm sure that once the clan forums are integrated into the game, there won't be a need for something like this. But that's what - at least 6-8 months away?

Meanwhile though, I figured that some clans don't want to put up with ezboard popups, or pay a monthly fee to host their boards, so we'll have that service available within the next 2 weeks or so, with a convenient option to log into the clan forum from the main page.

You don't have to use them if you don't want to, really :P

It would be better that guild are provided with forum support from the official site.

ehh all depends on the guild, the one i am in is comprized of buddies from home and friends we all made at our respective colleges so most of use have each other's aim names and emails already. we are putting up a website and a forum for the inevitable outsiders that we (atleast hopefully) will get.

Well a lot of clan/guilds from other games already have their private forums set up. I dont forsee many of these groups paying for something they already have.

I liek that warcry is doing such a generous service fo rthose who cant afford thier own board and dont want to use a cheap pop up ridden board.

unless razorwax has clan boards on the website, or teh ingame boards are up to par, then i think its a good thing.

It's a good option for clans that don't have the resources to setup a forum- who says the other clans NEED to have a forum on warcry as well anyway? They'll just stick to their own private one

We've got our own site these days, so wouldn't need it, but back in the day it would have been way better than putting up with Avidgamers lag jsut to post instructions to guildmates.

I say yes, not to support the "vapor guilds", but to support new guilds that haven't quite figured out it's easy to collect $100 total from guildies for a year of quality website hosting. I'm sure most places are cheaper than that even.

With integrated in game forums, well... my guildies may see even less of me in our own forums. I prefer to play when I can get on the puter... Forums are for when the server goes down or I'm stuck away from home.

I am surprised so many people have guilds already. I have a lot of friends that will most likely play this game, but there is no way in hell im gonna be in their guild. I am not sure how many people are like me, but I am gonna wait till I can see how good players are before I guild with them.

Dude, the majority of these guilds and organizations are very old, much older than Darkfall, you'll notice guilds tend to move from game to game with solidarity. Although admittedly each new game breeds a new set of guilds, and a couple of those will appear before launch strangely enough.

There are quite a few guilds that have been around for a long time ( KGB almost 10 years) and migrate from game to game looking for one that will unite their guild. Having vapor forums for everyone is fine if the new guilds that start in game need a hand to go, however, most guilds have their own websites established.
