View Full Version : Gaming: Brand New Razer Copperhead Gaming Mouse...
So I just recieved my brand new Razer Copperhead gaming mouse.

^This One.
I bought the mouse from Amazon.com at a much discounted price from the website price. I highly suggest searchign for retailers online when looking for gaming mice, I found them much cheaper.
Anyways, about the mouse. Supposedly it is the highest end gaming mouse on the market. I read a alot of reviews of it, comparing it to the Logitech G5, and the R2 Gaming Mouse. The Logitech G5 seemed to be just behind the Copperhead as far as precision and practical use (The G5 is not ambidextrious, and kind of big and gawdy, compared to the smaller more balanced Copperhead). The R2 is hard to find a retailer, and is very unconventional and pricey, although kinda cool looking.
So far I'm happy with it, playing Left 4 Dead all day and its been great. The features such as the on-the-fly sensitivity, high ultrapolling hz, and comfortability is amazing. I just put some more weights into the mouse to slow me down, without sacrificing my sensitivity.
Does anyone else have this mouse, or either of the ones mentioned?
If so, what are your thoughts?

Ever since I got my first Razer mouse, that's all I'll use. I've used the Diamondback and now I use the Lachesis.

I have a G5. I like the extra bit of weight, and have added nearly as much weight to the mouse as possible. Crank up the sensitivity and you've got an incredibly precise mouse.
Not too sure about the Razer products. They look flimsy and weak.

I wouldn't trade my G5 for anything!!
I have big hands though so the razer doesn't fit my hands very well (my younger brother has a razer and I've used it and just didn't like it).
I like the added weight to the G5 as well.

Do you miss the 7th button?
Heh, just kidding.
My best friend has a G5, because of his bigger hand. He likes the feel - I didn't because I prefer the smaller Copperhead.
It's all a matter of personal preference regarding those issues.
However, how is performance?

The Copperhead is no longer the most advanced mouse on the market, the Lachesis surpassed it. You should've gotten that one imo. It's still a great mouse though, I have one too. On the fly sensitivity is bullshit, btw. I don't see why anyone would need that.

I use it in CS when I switch to a sniper rifle (I go lower sensitivity for more precise aiming)
I have it set to one of my side mouse buttons.
Works like a charm.

More precise aiming? Dude, you have a 2000DPI mouse. Unless that's not sensitive enough for you and you crank up the in-game sensitivity setting, you can pretty much move your crosshair one pixel at a time.
Just admit you can't handle the sensitivity when sniping. Nub.
Switching sensitivities only makes it confusing, keeping it constant is way better.

I simpley prefer the smaller movements when sniping, I don't need to be able to pull a 180 degree turn with a slight flick of the wrist while I'm using a scout.
Rather, I like it to be more controlled. Smaller, slower movements allow me to be more precise in aiming at long distances. It's worked out VERY well for me.
When I switch back to my DEagle, I put the sensitivity back up so I can have those quick movements in close-combat situations.
It's very practical.

Or you could be like me and snipe like a pr0 at high DPI settings. You'll get used to it with a bit of practice.

been useing the MX500 for 4 years and recently bought a G5, these heavy bulky mice just suit me best and the 2 thumb-buttons are indispensible for me.

Stock HP mouse FTW!!! But really there isn't a difference, once you get good with a mouse switching to a "new better" mouse will just make you worse until you get good with it and even then you wont be any better.

I've always used Logitech in the past but bought a copperhead for a little change, it took me sometime to get used to it's shape, it's a good mouse, paid $36 =O
Whenever I need a new mouse I'm gonna grab a logitech again =X (I've used logitech mice from 91 till this year, bought the copperheard 4~5 months ago)

LOL Classic Viluin idiocy. If you're not like you you suck and you're a noob. Oh, and if he doesn't use a feature, the feature is shit and universally useless. You sire need to go fuck yourself.
As for the mouse, definitely one of the better choices out there.
