For nearly two-weeks 15-year-old Brandon Crisp has been missing after running away from his home. The Barrie, Canada, teen stormed out of his house during the Canadian Thanksgiving weekend when his parents took away his Xbox 360, arguing that his excessive play of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare was affecting his sleep and social skills.

According to earlier reports, Brandon told his parents he would run away if his system was not returned and, in an effort to "call his bluff," his father helped the teen pack his belongings. Brandon's parents now fear that he has been "lured by gamers" through the Xbox Live gaming service, "It could be organized crime or someone involved in Internet gambling. Pedophiles can stalk kids through these games," Brandon's father told The Star.

While it's easy to argue how Xbox Live is being misrepresented in this situation the fact remains that Brandon, who purchased Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare -- an M Rated title intended for gamers 17 and above -- with his own Christmas money, is still missing and his family is completely distraught. Sad news to report today, as CTV station CP24 reports that Brandon Crisp, a Barrie, Canada teenage gamer who went missing last month, has presumably been found dead by local police. Police discovered what is believed to be Crisp's body on Fifth Line. Crisp had gone missing on October 13 after a fight with his parents over his excessive gaming habits. Following his disappearance, local businesses and Microsoft had offered rewards to those with any information regarding Crisp's whereabouts.

CTV reports further that Sgt. Dave Goodbrand of the Barrie police said the department believed the body to be that of Crisp, but that it is waiting for pathology before making an official confirmation.

Details regarding the boy's death are unconfirmed at this time.

Yeah, i called myself a fanboy, but like i said, i was just messing around. I love the Wii, but i don't play it anymore, for lack of good games.

The Wii could be called gimmicky, yes, but i don't think it is. Who decides what is innovative and what is gimmicky? I really don't like all the Mii shit, that is something i would call a gimmick. I do, however, love the channels. I think it's bad ass to get to read the news on my console. If i wanted to go on the internet on a ps3, it wouldn't be called a gimmick, so why is it a gimmick on the Wii?


Honestly, i think the Wii is a bad buy. I think it's a sweet system, sweeter controls, and it's bad ass that i can play all my old favorites, but it seriously lacks value for someone looking for serious gaming. Unless you want to be playing a dozen shoot off's of mario, then there is almost no games for you on the Wii.

Resident Evil 4 for the Wii was pretty amazing, though. Too easy with the aiming.

I don't like the PS3 not because of the PS3, it's more my problem with sony. They're shit to their fans, customers, family, pets, etc. They're just a terrible company.

Not to mention that PS3 is overpriced and not as good as (in my opinion) xbox 360, seeing as you can get it for 1/29 of the price and still have equal/more fun.

Crazy, I graduated from St. Joe's three years ago. Didn't realize this had happened until now since I don't live in Barrie atm (my parents do though).

The xbox is actually about the same price, if not more expensive than the ps3- if you were to buy all the extra features in addition to just the base console (online play, a blu ray player etc)

And its louder, it breaks more often, you have to listen to thousands of whiney dipshits on live (that you pay for) and the controllers are not as high quality (although they are more comfortable).

Sad story, kid flipped out, prolly went to cool down. Fell asleep in a tree and fell out and died. I can't blame or pass judgement on any of em, but the gaming cop-out is pretty sad.

this kid is running away and throwing hissy fits about video games at 15? the way he was treated by his parents is the same way he was acting, like some 10-12 year old, seriously. Now you question parenting for letting him get to this at 15 sure, but the death itself isnt on gaming lol or the parents or the kid, had he not fallen out of the tree and died he prolly would have strolled home, grown up a bit form the whole experience, and the parents would have done some "parenting" since obviously they didnt do it with the typical runaway ages of 11-13 (middle-school kids who also are younger and have less energy to make it a full night before coming back!)

The parents trying to make this sound like some drug case where the kid dropped outa school and started living by teh 10 crack comandments because they're 15 yo kid acted like a 12 year old and through a fit about his game. (on his thanksgiving break no less?)

seriously everyone in the linked threads seems to think blaming is needed for the untimely death of a 15 year old.

Honestly ask yourself, when you were 15 years old were you still like this?

-cause of death- falling out of tree in your obituary would be as close as it comes other than natural disasters.

Also unless the tree stuff is confirmed and investigation completed i dont rule out anything, after all when he first was missing his dad was under the impression that the Xbox Live Mafia was contacting him, so who knows, maybe a bunch of dudes in zuit suits came and bashed his chest in, or maybe he was watching sopranos before the media came for his story... hm....
