You are completely wrong. You may act a little different though. Schizophrenia is an extremely broad diagnosis that can include everything from catatonia to vivid hallucinations and speech jumbling. You would act different too if when birds are telling you that you are Jesus and your skin is on fire and no matter how much you scream nobody believes you. Our brain is all we have when interpreting the world. If it has been reliable for 20 years you wouldn't suddenly mistrust it just because shows you bugs crawling under your skin (all senses can be affected).

Geeze, that's a seriously severe case right there. To be honest I've been told I have Schizophrenia before simply due to cases of extreme paranoia (for a while I refused to use anything but recyclable plastic cups since I was certain the rest of them had poison on them), then again I suspect some of this was brought on by the medication they had me on at the time. Which screwed me up in several other ways as well... Never take Welbutrin. It makes Cocaine look like a pleasantly mild and nonaddictive alternative.

Schizophrenia (Greek: split + mind), is not directly related with MPD (Multiple Personality Disorder). The former, is far more common, it cannot be actually diagnosed before taking effect and in the vast majority of the cases, people die without even having manifested schizophrenia, even if they had it.

I see many people having vastly wrong ideas about what schizophrenia means, and typically they think of patients with schizophrenia like berserk murderers with your typical, out of the movie, blooded knife, cleaver, chainsaw or whatever.

Think of the mind like a cause and effect table...

IF you are offered a "cup of water" THEN IF you are thristy, say "thanks" and take "cup of water" IF you are not thirsty, say thanks, and deny "cup of water"... etc etc...

Schizophrenia, is characterized with two basic symptoms. Unpropotional and erroneous perception of reality, and misadjusted reactions.

Using the above example of the cause/effect table, "misadjusted reactions" might be having the "cause" part of a normal statement, being distorted... like...

Normal Person:
IF you see someone pulling a rabit out of a hat THEN applaud, smile, state curiosity.

IF you see someone pointing a gun towards you THEN if you have a weapon, self defend, IF you do not have a weapon, scream and call for help.

Schizophrenia Patient:
IF you see someone pointing a gun towards you THEN applaud, smile, state curiosity.

IF you see someone pulling a rabit out of a hat THEN if you have a weapon, self defend, IF you do not have a weapon, scream and call for help.


Schizophrenia can be vastly extended, and have distorted the table everywhere, or as focused as a single statement, where as long as that statement is not done, then the patient manifests no symptoms.

"Unpropotional and erroneous perception of reality", simply put, means feeling things that are not. It could be a focused halucination, like watching a saint all the time, or a generic dimensional mispropotion, like seeing everything taller than it is. This has nothing to do with the receptor organs, but with how the brain translates the information it gets.

As a parenthesis, MPD, is vastly different: Always using the table example, each normal person, has one table, with causes and effects. MPD patients, develop more than one, but since the brain can only use one at a time, various stimuli might refocus the brain into another table, which of course has no knowledge of the existence of the other.

Finally, it must be stated that schizophrenia can be "focused". This means that erroneous stimuli, and cause/effect misadjustments, might be directly related... a simplistic example, is the one used by many movies:

The "KILL" message on the radio/tv or the "whispering voices", which result in the patient going into a killing spree.

Ok, in reality this is almost impossible to happen, (after all, most normal persons do not have an "effect" statement saying "kill all", to have its "cause" statement distorted...) but generally, stimuli and cause/effects are directly related.

Another, this time real, example. This is a bit more complex, because here, we have an agent creating the cause/effect misudjustment.

Think of it. We have a deeply religious person, that lives a moderately normal life, having a job, a wife, two children, some close friends. Every sunday he goes to the church, and atends numerous religion related gatherings.

Year after year, religion becomes one of his most important fields of interest. He learns about the saints, and the people that had the oportunity to envision a miracle... His hope, is to taste a miracle himself, to see the wonder that his god is... As time progressess, he becomes more and more focused on his wish... He keeps saying to himself: "God is above all. If he ever asks anything of me, I'll do it with no second thought."

Take note, that the above statement, does not seem eroneous, since far too many people share that thought...

Then, one day, as this person walks past the shops, and since he is not tech geek or anything, he notices a red letter message flying over some computers... most people would recognize a projection... But he knows not of projections... he knows only of god... As his mind strives to understand and label what he saw, only one answer is plausible: god! Consider also that most people, do not stare to advertising projections like they saw god, so, this peson might also think that he is the only one seeing it... (Of course I am the only one that saw it! God was there, and nobody was looking with awe at him, and after all, I love God... Yes...Yes!)

A new statement is created in his mind...

IF God comunicates through digital red letters flying on mid air THEN do whatever the red letters say.

(the "effect" statement was the one that he developed over time...)

Now, red dot letters, take a new significance for him. While he may have ignored them previously, now he subconsiously, but actively, is seeking them. He stares left and right, to see if god is telling anything to him... As time progresses, the statement becomes more generic, because he actually wishes for the statement to become true, and so he widens the "cause" part. (always subconsciously). Now, the statement becomes...

As he walks past a brewery, he notices a red digital message: BUY THE BEST BEER ON THE UNIVERSE!

Guess what? He rushes in, and buys as much as he can carry... Which he later must explain to his wife and children... When he explains that god said so, then they will become alienated, since most people do not know how to properly react... By becoming alienated, he will become aloof: "They do not understand me... God talked to me... He said to do so... They do not understand... but I do."

I could continue the story for long, this specific person, was discovered when he raped a woman and started screaming that he will bring Jesus to life again. He was enclosed in clinic and declared "uncurable".

It must be noted that schizophrenia, is so "special", because it is the only psychic disease that cannot be effectively diagnosed before manifesting prominently. As you can see, schizophrenia has absolutely nothing to do with MPD, which can be safely diagnozed through memory lapses.

I do not believe it does. I have not seen a gaming company even take it into consideration yet. And believe that I have been paying attention.

If it was taken into court, however, the entire thing would result in a drop of the case. Schizophrenics can get away with a lot of shit, the vast majority of us are not nearly as coherent as I am currently. I have improved 100% ever since I quit taking those horrible medications that were stifling my intelligence, positivity, and my creativity. Even though I might be aggressive-natured on these forums, does not mean I am not extremely positive IRL. Actually if you talk to anyone in my clan SF, I am completely different person on our clan forums. I dont like most everyone on forumfall, so I am an asshole here. :)

I do not recommend Zyprexa, Paxil, Welbutrin, and any other psychiatric medicine to ANYONE. They are DANGEROUS. I have quit them completely over 4 months ago, and my life has drastically improved ever since, you would not even believe it. If you feel depressed or insane, just fight it on your own, grow some balls. Its not worth taking those pills, they will FUCK YOU UP royally, they will destroy your blood chemistry, they alter your brain chemistry significantly, and they overall harm you in very bad ways. If you need to take those kinds of pills then take something that wont serve to act like a damned brain tranquilizer! (Thats what those pills do to anyone that takes them.)

That is correct.

I was on Welbutrin for about 4 years straight. I felt like COMPLETEL SHIT the entire time, physically and mentally, all because of that pill. I am STILL recovering from Welbutrin! And I havent taken it for over 6 years!

But you gotta understand that any anti-psychotic is 100 times worse than Welbutrin. I was forced to take Zyprexa for 10 years. Zyprexa is only prescribed for noobs like me that are diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia by doctors/psychiatrists. Zyprexa messed with your brain chemistry, it will change you completely.

You could not even believe how much better I feel mentally, physically, emotionally, far more positive feelings, ect, now that I have stopped the Zyprexa, Paxil, and all that other poison. I refused to take that crap after over 10 years of being on them at the displeasure of everyone: my parents, the doctors, and my psychiatrist. They all wanted me to stay on them, there was immense pressure since with a serious diagnosis such as this and due to my past, everyone is fucking scared for my future.

However I noticed over the last 5 years that the hallucinations gradually receeded and receeded, to the point where in the beginning of 2008, I was experiencing absolutely no hallucinations at all (and I havent had any since then). And I still felt like crap due to all the heavy medications being in my system. So I realized that I dont even need them anymore. And I do not, since I have been off them for over 4 months now, completely, and I have not returned to any state of psychosis. I am pretty much cured.

I told them all to "Go fuck yourselves, you take Zyprexa if you have such a love-affair with it. Now fuck you. No way in HELL I will ever be taking your poisons again!" and that is essentially my exact words.

And guess wut was the result? I feel much much better in many many ways.

Lesson: Do not trust psychiatrists. They are only in it for money that they get from companies like Lilly, who makes Zyprexa. And the psychiatrists do not even really understand how anti-psychotics and anti-depressants really work (check the research, scientists developed them on a trial-by-trial basis, they have very little understanding about how it actually works), and NOBODY really takes into account the dreadful side-effects of those medications. The negative side-effects are pretty much ignored by the psychiatric community. Therefore you should never trust them. :)

It never happened with me (I got lucky), but with pretty much 80% all people that take anti-depressants, they will gain anywhere from 20 pounds to 200 pounds. When that happens to some people, they get their natural metabolism altered by those meds PERMANENTLY. That means you will eat more, sleep more, exercise far less, and be a zombie. I have been 165 pounds for over 10 years, was even lighter previous to that, but I have read all about that crap on internet sites where people are sueing companies left and right over that shit. When ur metabolism changes and your lifestyle is changed due to mental composition, almost everyone starts having bad bloodwork with things like cholerstrol problems. I didnt gain weight on Zyprexa, but I had terrible cholestrol due to Zyprexa, thats one reason I quit.

They are also usually ineffective at solving the problem, because they will cause OTHER problems. They might help you feel better in some ways by making you "mentally numb" but in many other ways they will kill your personality and ability to function as a fully-intelligent human being. Anti-depressants will hold you back. And anti-psychotics are a thousand times worse.

The isolating situation: none of that is your fault, bro, I am sure you realize. It has everything to do with the human condition. Everyone goes through times in their lives when they are not content or somewhat depressed. Being a loner doesnt help, but seriously you have to learn to deal with that on your own if you want to find the best solution.

The best solution is NOT to swallow some kind of foreign chemical on a daily basis. Thats the same as taking illegal drugs, in my eyes (which I dont even touch that stuff at all).

I can understand you, though. After many years of isolation as a schizophrenic (we are the most socially isolated fuckers on earth, you have no idea how bad schizos have it), I have actually gotten to the point that I am completely happy being alone, if I want to be alone. I actually REQUIRE many hours of "alone time" so that I can play games and shit. For a little less than 10 years I was cronically ill with schizophrenia, I was completely alone that entire time. I dont need anyone, I adapted, got used to it, and it doesnt even bother me.

However, I have changed radically, I have a pretty active social life nowadays, both online and offline. I date women in the area all the time. Some of the women I date are freakin 38 year old women, but thats okey since I am 34 myself. Since I have youthful appearance, I also go out on dates with 18 year old women, its no biggie. I used to not even do that, except when in high school. Right after high school, into my 2nd year in college, thats when the schizophrenia really manifested and FUCK UP MY LIFE completely. I dropped out of university.

However I would have been far better off if I had at least stopped taking nearly as much of those medicines that was prescribed to me by doctors. My case of schizophrenia was so fucking severe that they made me take the absolute MAXIMUM DOSES on EVERY medication they could get to work with me. Srsly you guys have no clue how bad I was. What symptoms do you get? My ex's mom is a psychiatrist specialized in suicides (got burnt out pretty fast, way to have a line of work which is really getting to know people and then most of them kill themselves) and she told me about this one guy who was sure everyone had been replaced by plastic copies and that he'd been taken in because they had discovered he was a real human and they were going to replace him now so obviously he didn't take the pills they gave him so she cut herself to show him she bled and could be trusted.

Schizophrenia is completely different from split personalities. A lot of people assume they're the same, but they are different.

Schizophrenia is a disorder in which people have false beliefs in the face of reality. For example, a schizophrenic may have delusions or hallucinations that make things appear to be false (in their mind). They may believe one day they are a King or believe there is a King in their house.

Their thoughts are, at times, irrational and unexplainable. They can cope with every day activities just like any other person, but at times, their thoughts are contrary to reality.

A split personality person has a personality disorder, in which they have more than one personality, which go on and off between each other, and sometimes are not linked to the same memories. Schizophrenia is a dissociative disorder. They are two completely separate things.

To answer your question, no, I don't think it would break the NDA at all. Even if it did break the NDA I doubt any punishment would be done to a schizophrenic because it's not really their fault in the first place. Would it break the NDA to a multiple personality person? Maybe. If the memories between two personalities aren't linked, in theory, it would be difficult for one personality to even remember what they did on another personality. If the memories aren't linked, then perhaps there would be problems.

But again, if any action was attempted against either schizophrenics or split personalities, they would not be at fault, but rather their disorders would be at fault.
