You guys should realize that the timer wasn't an official count down either, it was something dun for fun to pass the time while he waited (sorry can't remember who made it now). A week or so I would save gives them a whole nother week to work with...Personally I'm hoping they get it up soon because I got spring break all this week, and since I'm a loser I'm not doing anything...

Do you read what I say? Let them take their time. But if it is going to take five weeks, say five weeks, not two weeks. If you are that bad at estimating things (they seem to be off on EVERYTHING), then give more conservative estimates. I said nothing about rushing.

Well I'll tell you something, if I gave deadlines like they do at my work, I'd be long fired. I mean if its goint to take a while, at least say it is.

Boss: Ok

Boss: So, its done?
Me: Err, I am making it good, so check back next month, k?
Boss: errr, pack your things.


I dont mind them taking as long as it takes to make a good game, but I DO MIND them saying something should be about in a couple days, and then taking weeks and months to do it. Why not give better, more conservative estimates?

This is terrific! I am really looking forward to beta testing Darkfall. It's everything I've ever wanted in a MMORPG. I don't develop software where I work, I just test it. I've also seen estimates of when a project will be done take a bit longer than the developer had expected. I think that's part of Murphy's Law, actually. ;)

Well I think everyone from SB is waiting for Darkfall to be honest. SB probably has about 3-4,000 ppl right now. You put the SB ppl all in beta and you have one hell of a word of mouth. You figure the average guild has a minium of 10 members and the three largest with probably 50-80.

Yeah, I can't wait for beta either. I played UO for 5 years till they runed it with trammel :angry:

Will be nice to actually play a game with the simiarities of UO but a lot more depth and better graphics. Any PvP game has its moment, but the good ones have mules for when you get bored of constantly fighting. Mules are what keep a game going because you can switch back and forth. I am a big time PKer, but even I get bored after time, so its nice to be able to go make a mule to get even better armor/weapons :D

Ohhh god I'm holding my breath for this one. When I read the Overview of this game at mmorpg.com I almost got an heartattack.
I played UO for 5 years and a couple of games in between the breaks I had from UO. Like DAoC, AC and PS and currently I'm in Lineage2 OB but I'm really disappointed at that game. Darkfall has obviously taken EVERY good part of OLD UO before Trammel and made it even BETTER with ALOT more depth. God I'm going to give up RL when/if I get in BETA or when OB begins :)
