What is taking up all of your HD space?

I'm thinking of buying a new laptop for college that comes with a 320GB Harddrive... even with video games my current computer only has 53GB used. This has got me wondering: what does everybody use all of their hard drive space for? I'm a minimalist who uses compression and external hard drives so I'm having a hard time trying to figure out why people need so much internal external memory.

Movies (Free movies ofc, GTFO mods), music, porn, games, rar files from torrents I'm seeding (Legal torrents ofc, GTFO mods).

300/480 GB is full atm.

Yeah...I could have given a legit response...for example I have 60 south park episodes, some movies, music, pics etc...but porn seemed the obvious answer.

well a lot of people don't bother with external HDD's because they clutter the place up. so what you would have on you externals I would have internally.

Also Movies, Music, Pictures and other forms of entertainment media on one HDD

Games and applications on another HDD

and my operating system my smallest HDD

I can't be bothered with multiple externals I have one for transfering data, its not big only about 100gigs but serves as a transfer tool and for backups, although I am likely to partition it to have a FAT32 partition so I can watch stuff through my xbox 360 until I get around to building a high quality media PC to attach to my TV

Well I have 120GB Internal. I only use about half of that, and its just games and some standard applications like Word. A few TV episodes but thats really it. If I don't play a game anymore I uninstall it and just save the saved game files somewhere.

Old crap from my old computer I archived. And age of conan and its (legal installer files) . I like to have a lot of free space for allocating files and defragmenting.

I'm using about 75 gigs.
~28GB music
~20GB program files
~12GB misc downloads (movies & apps)
~5GB pr0n
~1GB photos
~0.5GB misc documents
~8.5GB (the rest) windows files, settings, hibernate file, page file, misc shit.

I don't have a lot of porn since I usually watch the movie once and delete it from my computer. I only keep those rare gems that you can watch over and over again ;)

In any case, I have a bout 150GB of music, about 200GB of Divx movies, about 150GB of series and about 500GB of HD movies >_>

I've got about 4TB of space taken out of 5 of mostly audio files (audio production)

It gets a bit expensive.

I have hundreds of movies but theyre all on an external HD with about 40GB of music.

I'm a bit paranoid when it comes to things like this, on my internal HD I only have programs, my university work and thats it. I don't download porn, seems stupid/risky tbh. I'm one of those people who defragments every week, religiously.

Iso files namely, but I download randomly so its hard to keep track.

But most of my hardrive which is almost full is only .doc files.

I feel so small and unmanly compared to all of you, my HD is only 80 gigs. Though, I suppose it is how you use it that counts.
