View Full Version : Politics: Ron Paul on Montana ticket

As best as I can tell, there will be 5 candidates on the ballot in MT:
Ron Paul (Constitution)
Bob Barr (Libertarian)
John McCain (Republican)
Obama (Democrat)
Ralph Nader (Independent)
Additionally, there are at least two write-in candidates:
Cynthia McKinney (Green)
Chuck Baldwin (Constitution)
I know I have said over the last 6 months that I would be voting for Obama 2008. I have however educated myself now, and I decided that I completely support Ron Paul. Seeing as I live in Montana, I have what I regard as the unprecedented privilege to vote for the greatest statesman of our time. Therefore, am now changing my vote to Ron Paul, and I actually get to vote for him when he is on the actual fucking ticket, instead of just writing his name in as a "political statement."
So this is my message to Obama/McCain:
Fuck you, Washington!
And so the rest of this thread should be dedicated to the praise of Ron Paul.
Here is validation/proof that this is true.

By the way, it is possible that we are going into a worldwide Great Depression, and none of us will be able to play Darkfall within a year. Be prepared. Have fun in beta and the limited amount of time at release, because if the worst happens we wont be able to have internet for a long time, very soon. If the dollar is rejected due to devaluation, the entire financial system will collapse not only in America, but it will collapse worldwide. The internet, as we know it, would no longer exist. Therefore, nobody will be playing Darkfall. In fact, if that occurs, I will be planting a very large garden during the summer, and finding fun ways to pass the time like weeding that garden. Also, did you guys know that if/when the dollar collapses, the United States government will be GONE, and it would be up to us to restore it without allowing the current bigshots influence it. In fact, all industrial nations would collapse. The world would enter a new dark age where every continent would be a Third World country. At least until progress is made and people institute new economies and trade, ect. But wouldnt that take, like, at least a decade? I would be 44 years old by the time things got a little better.

Yes, and cars, buildings, food, and condoms will also cease to exist, apparently brain power was the first to go. How will you fight without guns, which will also disappear?

I edited that part out. However, to answer your question: Knives and muscle. It would be like the medieval ages all over again. However, it would take a while before all the guns ammunition in this country is depleted.
edit -- However, how exactly would buildings cease to exist. You must be trolling.

Except this large cultural shift towards the left is what is allowing shitty candidates like these to come forth as our options.

Wow, that is outrageous... Corporate control at its finest.
Does Nevada have a "None of These Candidates" or "None of the Above" option on the ballot?
Yes, NRS 293.269 requires that ballots for statewide offices, President, and Vice President permit a vote to express a choice of "None of These Candidates." However, only votes cast for named candidates are counted in determining the nomination or election to these offices.
Can I write my name on the ballot or write someone else's name on the ballot as a candidate?
No. Nevada Revised Statute (NRS) 293.270 prohibits write-in candidacy.
NRS 293.270 Voting by printed ballot or other approved or authorized system; write-in voting prohibited.
1. Voting at any election regulated by this title must be on printed ballots or by any other system approved by the Secretary of State or specifically authorized by law.
2. Voting must be only upon candidates whose names appear upon the ballot prepared by the election officers, and no person may write in the name of an additional candidate for any office.
(Added to NRS by 1960, 252; A 1973, 459; 1977, 243; 1987, 340; 1997, 3455)

You feel like you are voting for something that matters? Here's a clue: You aren't. He has less than no chance of becoming president, your vote is a political statement just like everyone else who votes outside the 2 party system. Just because you don't have to write his name in doesn't mean your vote is any different than the ones that do.
Most qualified? I don't know about that. He's been a Congressmen in Texas for god knows how long... but qualified to hold the most powerful office in the country? I'm not saying he doesn't have some good ideas and he's probably the most honest of all the candidates, but I don't think qualified is the right word to describe Dr. Paul.
And finally, how the fuck did you go from Obama to Paul? They are basically on 2 different ends of the political spectrum. I remember when I was looking at the different candidates I saw Paul had some interesting ideas... but his social policies were a bit too conservative for my taste. His statements about religion also deterred me from voting for him. I guess what I'm wondering is, did you change from a liberal to a conservative to follow the e-trend of Paul worshiping? And don't give me that 'Liberalism doesn't mean Democrat' because in this day and age the parties have molded themselves into a way where it does mean that. Part of the reason Republicans are losing.

Okey I am aware that my vote wont really matter as determining who wins this Presidency. Clearly, Obama is most likely going to win now. Previously I was voting for Obama based on the fact that I am a dependent, I am schizophrenic and I subsist on govt SSI checks and Medicaid to survive. Take that for what you will, but it is not my fault I am in the life position I am in. I have serious problems that you could not even comprehend due to your lack of knowledge about my life experiences, so dont even judge me, you cant. Call me leech, I care not.
Now voting for Obama would have given me more support in my personal life. When Clinton was in office, I was allowed to see my psychiatrist (I really do need her help) once per week. TWO MONTHS AFTER Republican Bush came into office, my office visits were drastically severed to once every 6 weeks, and its been that way for 8 years now. Obama, since he is socialist, would actually change that, and that would improve my life quite a bit. So I was gonna vote Obama for that self-centered reason.
However, I have decided that this isnt really about just me anymore. This is about the survival of our country. I am using my vote for what it was originally intended by our forefathers: as a privilege to vote based upon my ideals and the way I want this country to change. Obama does not bring change. McCain does not bring change. They are both completely fraudulent. I do not even see much of a difference with the potential likely results when either of those two become President. McCain has PROVEN himself a socialist -- as the same, our entire government is NOW SOCIALIST. Face it. Accept it.
But after I die, when I go to the halls of my forefathers (I have Viking ancestry) in the afterlife, I want to have the right to say that I was a true patriot, that I would fight and stand up for my own freedom and liberty as well as the freedom and liberty of my countrymen. I want my Viking forefathers, who were sophisticated freedom-lovers in their own lifetimes, to look upon me with pride, and accept me into their group as an equal. Would I gain any such pride by voting for Obama for entirely selfish reasons? No! Why should I vote Obama just so that I would have more of a chance to win? Isnt Obama going to win ANYWAY ?!??! Would even my vote for Obama really matter, when he is going to win ANYWAY ?!??! So what is wrong with voting for the superior principle, the superior meaning, even if it is ineffectual? Nothing, in fact, that should be considered most admirable. However, in modern American culture, they have different ideas of what kind of vote matters than I do. Shills.
You dont know me at all. I am not affiliated to any political spectrum and never have been. I am outside of any political categorization entirely. I can change my mind because I am entirely divorced from those things, unlike NEARLY ALL OF YOU other Americans. I am what would be called an adaptive intellectual. I change my mind based upon new knowledge gained all the time (its called "educating yourself," mmk), and the more information I get, the sum of that information changes me. I am not some rigid, ignorant American dumbfuck redneck. I am not an American idiot. Srsly, just because I have more brain power than most of you, while you cant even comprehend why someone could possibly switch from Obama to Ron Paul -- that really is to your detriment, and shows your lack of abilities.
I did not like Obama in the first place. However, I believe Ron Paul knows his stuff, I dont even know why you think he is off-track unless you are ignorant and uneducated (which it sounds like you are, indeed); he has demonstrated that he knows more about economics and foreign policy and the now-entirely-ignored principles and wisdom of our forefathers' learning, than anyone else in Washington; he has proven this time and time again, in fact, he made McCain look gawd damned ignorant (although thats easy to do because McCain lacks huge amounts of knowledge). I completely agree with Ron Paul on foreign policy, disbanding the CIA, getting rid of Social Security Administration, destroying the Federal Reserve, deregulting govt control on drugs and stopping the entirely hopeless & fruitless & wasteful war on drugs (and I do not even use drugs and dont plan on using them), preserving our personal liberties and actual freedom and privacy (Bush administration has robbed us of those things, there was a man that insulted Dick Cheney in public and was locked in prison for it -- thats not freedom or liberty!), pulling out all our military forces from all foreign lands and returning them to the nation, and all sorts of other things. Paul stands for personal liberty, and we are losing our liberty more and more, the more power our govt gains, the more liberty we are bound to lose. And our govt is gaining more and more power the more it is taking over the financial sector. Srsly, do I really need to educate you people about whats going on? I have educated myself, why dont you do the same instead of blindly listening to the govt-bought-and-owned media?
I believe in Ron Paul. He his the greatest statesman of our time. So I am voting for the principles of freedom and liberty, and that to me has far more meaning than merely voting for a fuckwad (Obama) that would just benefit my immediate lifestyle. Do you call yourself a patriot? Then vote for the ONLY politician in Washington that gives a rats ass about the tax payer, and who consistently fights for the sake of the people, rather than for the sake of money-grubbing corporate shills: Ron Paul. All the other politicians are only interested in the continuation of this govt and the preservation of current policies. Ron Paul does not particular care about this govt, but cares a lot, lot more about the actual COUNTRY, and so do I. Thats why I vote Ron Paul.

I read part of a disturbing book about "statistical noise" and how virtually every US election has been determined by people who really have no idea who they're voting for (basically "Game Theory", if you've ever heard of it) and I gotta say it's a bit disheartening.
Basically, your educated vote generally doesn't make a lick of difference in the election.

...ok i think this thread is hilarious, vikings ftw XD
first:
So because you're a viking we don't get to the halls of our forefathers? Where do we go?
well okay since i have viking ancestry aswell....
where does the rest of the world go?
second:
Voting for Ron Paul is useless, he is far to controversial. Normal Americans don't want that, actually nobody in any countries want that. I like controversial politicians especially when it's about immigration but imo Ron Paul is wrong on to many issues. He wants to make America into that 1920's dream country again. Well here's some news for you: We're in the 21rst century.
What is it with DF and Ron Paul.
Since i started there ahve been threads like this...
well... at least i get a good laugh! :lmao:
WELCOMME TO RON PAUL ONLINE! :lmao:
Edit: We've been through a recession in the 1930's and we're still fine now... we didn't get back to the middle ages and the current credit crunch isn't as bad... i think we've reached the bottom. that statement was VERY pessimistic.

Uhhh yeah I was being pretty pessimistic, thats truth. I was talkin about what could happen AT THE WORST. I do hope we have reached the bottom and it doesnt get any worse, because really I would very much like my life to stay the same as it is now. I have not even been personally effected by any this recent downturn, though I might be in the future, though kinda unlikely, as I dont have any savings anyway, or stocks, or anything. However, if I cant get credit to buy my next computer, I will be FUCKED.
As for your first question. I have Viking ancestors and will go to teh Halls of my Forefathers. But really I dont give a fuck where everybody else goes. I suspect 90% everyone in America that is a Christian will go to Hell to burn in a lake of fire and brimstone, actually I really hope so. 2% all muslims will go to paradise and recieve 50 virgins who they will repeatedly fuck for all eternity, while all the other muslims will go... where? Has anyone here even read teh Qu'ran, srsly? Oh and the atheists will all go to Atheist Land.
Srsly what kind of fucking question was that, anyway? LOL!
