What old games would you want remade?

What old childhood game would you want game developers to remake?

And how close would you want them to stick to the original?
Generally speaking a lot of old games that get remade are done outstandingly badly, where they either butcher the old prized game mechanics by introducing new things or stick to the old and flawed game mechanics and don't improve upon old problems

I'd love to see a Blaze & Blade remake for the PS3 (with all new content obviously, not the exact same levels and such). I 100%d that game with my brother on the ps1, and we soaked in every dragon-grinding second of it. It was one of those games where you could just keep advancing your character, irrelevant of how naff the character customisation was.

I'm sure you'll think my suggestion is horrible, and quite rightly, it only really appealed to a small niche market.

I suppose that is somewhat true, but, in the case of blaze and blade there were some awesome game play mechanics that were overshadowed by massive flaws.

Like for but one example, if you were a class that could cast spells you had to hold select to initiate casting, then do a (tri, X, O squ) button combonation to cast your spell. This meant that to be a good wizard, you had to memerize your spell combonations! THAT WAS AWESOME! I still remember most of them now, and some were like 21 buttons in a row >.<

But then of course, you had the warrior, who's only ability was a attack and maybe direction + attack to do a break guard.
Or the dwarf who was basically the warrior but without the break guard move.
That made playing those classes suck hard.

If they remade it, in a rich, bloomy environment, with those class fixes, i'd pay for it. And love it.

I somewhat agree. Pokemon in an MMORPG could be really fun if it's done well. 3d Graphics would be nice as well, but cut the "new" crap out, only use material from red/blue; silver/gold a the most.

Pool of Radiance 1, as a 1st person mmo. With hirelings to replace people if the group were not full. Not as a free mmo but a storyline mmo with an epic end. it should take like 6 months to complete, and then there should already be a sequal and a 3rd and a 4th. so you would never complete it.

By completing the first you would be real powerful, so to start the sequal should be a story like some wizard tapping your powers or sickness for a warrior. So you would start out relatively weak.

I had this game on 7 doubble sided 5½ inch disks back then.. it's like 15 years ago or so "just a guess". And I still remember 95% of the game. hidden treasures, how many moves the rooms had etc..

When people think of UO, I think of Pool of Radiance on my C64.. a remake would be great.

Sidenote: Pool of Radiance 2 were an EPIC FAIL, in my eyes.

At the moment I think I would prefer a straight upgrade that keeps the side-scrolling action (like Bionic Commando) but updates the graphics and levels. If the side-scrolling mechanic was replaced with a 3D action platforming style it could be good too. Either way, I would love to see the man made entirely of balls kickin' ass and rockin' out again.

I have ALWAYS wanted to see the Westwood Studios PC game "Circuits Edge" be remade. The game was absolutely brilliant but was unfortunately held back by the conceptual and technological limitations of the early 1990's in my opinion; it was also a very short game BUT brilliant nonetheless.

The game was based on George Alec Effinger's "Marid Audran" novels - a cyberpunk fiction set in a world dominated by Islamic idealism, gritty survivalism and an uneasy coexistence of the old world and new world. Great premise for a game or movie !!!

If it wasn't for my total lack of programming ability it would be ME attempting to remake this game :)

Even though I never played any of the original Mega Mans,I think that's a good thing for 'remade' games.
