So even after China allows us to borrow billions of dollars, we continue to sell billions in weapons to Taiwan, helping them secretly oppose the chinese possibly in the future? I mean wtf seriously, where's our honor in negotiations.
Our leadership is such a joke, we need a revolution.

how about China doesnt like a worldpower arming and having weapons and what not so close to their border.
It is like russia arming Cuba.
I got great respect for Cuba, they have managed to have a much better healthcare system, much lower infantile death rate than USA.
Even with a 46 year lasting embargo....Respect to Fidel for that.

WTF does China lending us money have to do with who we sell one of our chief exports to?

Are you suggesting we could use the lead in the milk to make ammunition to sell to the Taiwanese? Vicious cycles are awesome.

Who cares? Plenty of buyers in S. America, Eastern Europe, Middle East, Africa, South East Asia, etc.

It is not about weapon export. It is about Bush administration wants to support Taiwan to be independent. The truth is that Taiwan is a province of PRC. And that PRC will declare war on Taiwan if they announce their independence.

Uh, no. We have not and won't in the foreseeable future recognize Taiwan's independence. It's too profitable for us to continue the status quo of recognizing it as a rebel province of China that needs lots of weapons which we are oh so happy to provide. Been doing it for decades. This is business as usual.

PRC with a strong economy that America doesnt have will ofc demand some things if they want to do business with them.
I think that the value of weapon export to Taiwan is not even near the export to PRC.
Not a big thing that would create a war probably but it wont make things better in the long run I bet.

Bullshit comment with added bullshit statement backed up with 'proof' from a bullshit website.
Nice.

It is true :)
Without hijacking the WWII scientists, America wouldnt have won the space race and more.
That is another story though :sly:

You don't get to be the one and only world super power by being a pussy. I'm sure Iran wants us to stop backing Israel, but guess what? They still sell us oil while we threaten to bomb them back to the stone ages with nukes if necessary.
Obviously things are going to change. 30 years ago China didn't dare squawk over us supporting Taiwan.

Yes, but to say every scientific discovery in America is because of nazi scientists is just a downright ignorant comment.

True.
Not saying that every discovery was because of the nazi scientists. America got a very big advantage though for decades after WWII because of them.
Other countries also got some precious nazi scientists but the biggest part went to US.
That said, Europe have had a bigger impact on discovery in history then America.
I cant come up with one single discovery that changed the world that came from America.
Perhaps create a new thread for this purpose. It is a interesting subject :ohno:

Does the discovery of how to actually get a sustainable chain reaction in a nuclear bomb somehow not count...? Because nowhere near all of the Manhattan Project was Nazi scientists.

The secret to trolling well, is to mix truth with bullshit.

That was not discovered by Americans, sorry. It was only implemented into the Manhattan project.

How to get one going in practice was most definitely discovered by the Manhattan Project. That energy could be obtained by nuclear reactions wasn't found there, nor was the possibility for nuclear chain reactions found there, but the way to actually assemble a tool that would produce a critical mass (no small feat!) was most definitely found there. Does it somehow not count?

They merely implemented discoveries to create a weapon. None of the discoveries was American. The work that they did to implement the discoveries and make a bomb out of them was done by Americans first.
Two different things.

The discoveries made by someone else, put into a weapon by Americans? Sounds right to me.
