gotta let the GOP have some talking points for their base too y'know.

I love how "no one wants to go into details" because to do so would mean to explore the foundation of our financial system (along with how easily it could be changed).

You've got to love the 'fist fuck' approach to this. I'm surprised nobody has called for suspension or abolition of property taxes yet.

Describe how this is a "fist fuck" approach.

I just want to know the reasoning behind this comparison.

Is it really a tax cut if the currency becomes more inflated?

Essentially, they are trying to plug a very small hole (default and foreclosures) with an object that is too large, a fist, (bail out bill). When the object doesn't go in (bill doesn't pass,) they use more force (tax cuts to get republicans on board) hoping the hole will accommodate.

This thing might aim to solve problems that don't even exist by the time things are done.

I think you have spent waaay to much time analysing the principles and conceptual nature of fist fucking..

What can I say? My kindergarten was severly underfunded, and I spent a lot of time playing with square blocks and round holes.

Anyway, I assumed the analogy would be quite apparent, but was asked to expound. It was a spontaneous analysis.

What the fuck? They are tricking people into supporting the bail-out by attaching a completely unrelated carrot on it?

Nothing new, if you follow politics.

Because the US Government loves to do that shit.

If a bill doesnt pass they always add something stupid to it to make others happy so that if it doesnt pass the second time they can lay blame on those who would not authorize the money to save one legged puppies on fire and make those people look bad.

Its complete bullshit that is for sure.

Unfortunately, Norwegian politics doesn't require this kind of shenanigans to pass socialist bills.

Still, I find it funny that this is just getting rammed through no matter how many times it's opposed, slightly modified and slightly more appealing each time. So much for a democratic process?

Ziegler

is it totally escaping everybody that the democrats dont need the republicans? They have a majority in both the house and the senate. :bang: And a dumbass president ready to slobber over whatever they put on his desk.

They want more republicans onboard so when this becomes a major fuck up they can blame it on republicans and GW.

And what about the original bill that was going to give money to groups like ACORN? ....politicians are guilty of padding bills;both sides of the aisle, at least McCain is giving it lipservice in not allowing it if he becomes president.

I hate to admit it but Vanno's fist fuck analogy actually makes total sense...which is so wrong.
