Also chances are that said boat would not be alone and have a crew more numerous than the pirates as well as the entire crew being trained to fight. Not that I have heard of, what they did was highjack a Ukranian owned ship that was largely crewed by Ukranians but didn't fly the Ukranian flag. The ship may also have contained 30 T-72 tanks but that hasn't been confirmed. Otherwise there is a coalition of European navies operating in the area to stop pirate raids on their respective nations shipping, recently among these the Danish ship Absalon captured the crew of a pirate ship, as the Somalian government(what little there is) won't prosecute them the Danish couldn't do anything more than leave the pirates on a beach without any weapons as the pirates had broken no danish law they could be tried for, the ship also later saved another cargo ship from being taken by some other pirates. That's pretty much it.

Well you're Danish so I'm sure you know your own Navy better than I do. But do you think they would all run to the side they're taking fire from? Do you think they would leave the opposite side untouched? You don't think said said ship would return fire? Attacking a first world navy vessel if you're a pirate would be incredible stupidity. Those ships are very complex and spare parts are not abundant, it would be total overkill to have one as they're not needed to highjack cargo vessels and you're not likely to find a crew that can operate said ship to at optimum capacity, and that doesn't even touch on the fact that you would be stuck in an epic shitstorm when the nation you just stole a ship from decides to retaliate.
