It has been 28 years from this day that the legendary drummer, John Bonham, passed away. With his death, the greatest band on earth (Led Zeppelin) broke up. Luckily he died like a man, taking more than 16 shots of vodka and later choking on his own vomit.

16 shots? pussy...

I knew somebody would say it...

Anyway, the only way to die like a man is to shove bamboo shoots up your fingernails, and dive balls first into a pool of slow-dissolve acid.

i got yer drummer right here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jKBLSkN2sRk)

Bonham was great...don't get me wrong, but Zepplin being the "greatest"...spare me

too many stolen blues licks, imo

and i saw them twice at MSG...then saw Rush in 76...no comparison, Zappa also rulez over Zepp

plenty more from that era

Hey guys, the thread is about respecting a great man, not fucking telling me how to commit suicide and why the music I like isn't the best.

Knowing that you're from Canada, and considering your history on forumfall, this is just another attempt at trolling.

Okay, normally I would love to engage in a flame war with you Doc, but I don't want this thread locked. This is supposed to be a thread to make everyone emo, not turn into a mindless forum battle.

lol..fair enuff

it wasn't my intent to flame...as i said "one of the greatest"

i tend to take Music a bit more seriously than forums

/spills whiskey

for Bonham...you are missed...

imo, here's his two drum style successors

Vinnie Paul - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ugmxdT5qnE4

and Danny Carrey - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JVbFrl9wLBA (my favorite playing right now)

What is it with Ewoks and Zeppelin? I mean they are good and all, but are they awesome to roll to while running around your tree villages and drinking syrup?

I'm pretty sure we've been through something similar to this before.

We Ewoks don't "roll", we ride flying Hippos.

And yes, I do listen to it when riding.

Zep was great, and the drummer's death was one of the more unfortunate in rock history, around there with Bon Scot and probably a bit below the death of Freddie Mercury. (ok, way fucking below)

But I do agree, Neil Peart is drum MASTER

He is the sort of person that would not want to be remembered with silence imo.

No, it's a fairly straight forward motion.

Hmm... Good point. I wasn't actually planning on being silent, just kinda saying it because that's what the always do for rememberance day and such.

Branny-kins is a zep fan! He would have just locked it otherwise. We are made for each other, why don't we make babies or something?

On topic. I agree with this action. This is a thread for remorse, not hurtful comments.

INFLUENCING QUEEN! The greatest rock band!

Sorry but although Jon Bonham was an amazing drummer, he wasn't anywhere close to the best. Yes, he was influential due to his heavy style of drumming (at least for their era) but he wasn't the best. Dead musicians are always overrated. Just look at Keith Moon, Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain, Cliff Burton, etc.
