Yes, near the end there is a dwarf wearing a full-face mask that we've seen before in other pictures. It saddens me that now the newcomers don't even have the decency to look through the screenshots. There are numerous people wearing helms, not only in the screenshots, but the male warrior who raises his battle axe before they charge in the trailer is wearing one as well.

First visible helmet in the gameplay trailer is at 00:18. The following archer battle has a guy with a Indian Chief hoodie on, and an Elf sniper with what seems to be a leather cap. It just goes on and on with tons of characters wearing helmets.

Pirate helm on Ork in the sea battles and a few Mahirim had helms too.
Most likely the "show helm" option.

if by "helms" you mean motorcycle helmets, then no there isn't. But if you mean tempered metal adorning the head for protection against bladed or blunted weapons used for smashing or slicing, then yes there is.

I honestly want to go ballistic on these "newcomers", but I know that I would be penalized for my actions. I so very much wish we could flame them as before, but I'm afraid those days are over.

helms arent that rare, i suggest you get a padded leather one.

I think Darkfall should take a tip from Guild Wars in this realm. GW had it so you could check a box to have your helm show or not. I think the devs should allow as much creativity with chars as possible. I'm looking forward to this game for freedom, character customization/immersion, and pvp. In THAT order,

And I think that if you want to be protected like a tank you should look like a tank. If I see someone without a helm on, I want them to not have the protection of a helm so it makes it a little bit easier to size people up. If you don't want to look like you have a helm on, don't wear a helm. Same with cloaks and everything else.
