They say that the first impression is the lasting impression, and I believe that. However modern day desires are different between the individual. Personally I would love a Pittsburg-Style Medium Rare Sirloin Steak made in thirty minutes over a flash-frozen steak patty made in three minutes. But thats just me, I have patience for quality. But I feel as though that's not the way everyone else feels, or not as strongly... so I created this poll to sort of get a feel for how patient people are for what degrees of quality.

i would say i dont wanna wait more than 6 months but i would. im pretty excited for this game tho. As long as the game works properly i'm happy. Minor bugs can be fixed later.

Funny how all the beta sign-ups dont even have enough patients to wait for 2 weeks before creating "plx plx release now!" threads. Right after that usually come the "RELEASE NOW OR I'M GONNA STOP GIVING A SHIT!!!11" threads :D give me candy or I am gonna cry.

with the last bunch of mmo's that were a disaster when released, i say get it right and release it as perfect as possible. if they release it and its everything they say it will be with few bugs. the gaming community will flock to it. if they rush and release an incomplete game it will just go down as another mmo disaster.

Obviously they have to wait until its finished, just take another good hard look at the dozens of failures out there and they all ALL and I mean every last damn one have that one thing in common, they weren't finished when they launched. So if you want to destroy Darkfall just becuase you don't want to wait then I hate you you selfish prick!

Having said that I know they will release within 4 months from now so its all good.

Also what is that option "wait one month"? Beta isn't even bloody out yet you cannot and I mean CANNOT release and mmo without a beta first.

I've been waiting three months and can't wait for this game to come out. I was always a WOW guy with WOW friends but hated that there was a less of a pvp aspect. I say six months or less cuz then im gunna go crazy. :)

i'd wait a lot longer than a year for a quality product.

there won't be second chances here. If it's bugged to shit (beta testers fault)

or they release without a lot of the key features it's not going to do well.

i'm already prepared to wait 6 months since i know DF won't be released in the US for a while... plus i still haven't built my new pc yet. but it would be great if it releases here no later than jan/feb i want to enthrall myself into something this winter and i don't wanna spend too much time in the house when next spring/summer rolls around heh.

as far as waiting for a year, i think that may damage aventurine's rep for doing so. people here have been waiting 7 years (so i've heard) for this game to come out. no game is released perfect when it comes out, i believe that any character design/animations can be patched in later.

honestly,ive also been waiting for this game for, oh now, 4 years?? god it went by fast.. and if it was up to me ,id release it yesterday :D , but im aware in order to make a great game, an epic game , it takes time,and honestly , no matter when it comes out , now or in 10 years.. ill spend hours and hours and hours of my life playing the game, the only difference is that it will either be solo,or with my kid :rolleyes:

I don't care how long it takes... I've been following it for years and my idea is just to wait until I hear something new happen and when that happens check the forums...

If for some reason I miss that it's in beta or miss a release date then I'm for sure to hear about it before the pre-orders go on sale.

Waiting for more than anything else, other than the prescribed 2008 release is going to kill this game.

If you have been following this game, since.. some 8 years ago, "waiting up to another year" IS NOT A GOD DAMN OPTION.

Beta either starts December or the game is released in December.

DF takes a massive, massive risk if they try and throw another set-back upon it's fanbase.

i do say they need to be carefull.
lots of mmos are released already some failed but they will try to get back on there feet. and new mmo are scheduled to be relased before or early 2009.
and that the game is being made for nearly 8 years orso is not really helping.

If they delay it for another year, I expect them to improve some graphical stuff, namely how models move... with the rest of graphics issues I can live with even after a year.

im already waiting for darkfall for more than 6 years, when i heard about this full loot project of some UO-freaks. i hope it comes by the end of the year, because i really dont wanna wait any longer. but if it doesnt...well i guess i wont have a choice than waiting longer.

but i think its cool that with the release so many things will be implemented in df...remember other mmorpgs where major content (content used in advertising the game) is only released months later or even years later with expansion packs where you have to pay money again. some games are so bugged at release that noone really cares playing it longer than a week...we can all agree that DF wont be of that kind.

I voted first option (a year). If I get disappointed in Darkfall I will abandon it forever. So I would prefer to wait but never face the wiked grimace of failure and waste of so much time on forums, clan maintenance, waitting etc.

what many people sadly dont get is...even if they take their time and release it in 2 years, it will still have alot of bugs, like every other game. many bugs cannot be found in small beta or alpha tests...they are only found after the game is released and the mass of players are testing the weirdest things, the betatester never even thought of.

carebears who state: "if the game isnt bugfree at release, i will abandon it" havent ever played a mmorpg before and think they have to work like the computers in nasa spaceship....1 little bug and the whole crew dies. the reality is different, even the DF-developers state that the game cant be bugfree. some people get that...some dont.

I just found this game, so I'm as patient as I could be.
I agree with all the people who votes for sable, all feature implemented release, no matter when it will be. Minor bugs can be corrected after release, they didn't kill the atmosphere of the game, but lacking promised features or frequently crashing game do.

On the other hand, currently released mmorpgs are boring and repetitive, and ... I don't like them. So I can't wait to play something really cool. :cool:

You've gotta admit it's interesting that the people who would wait a Year is at 65, and people who would only wait a month is at 64.... It's either More or Less with majority.
