Yes he was a criminal and indeed it turned out that later on he was planning something even worse than just getting together political rallies and the like, but the point still stands, this is exactly the kind of stuff I've seen happen in the U.S with the protests and police barging into peoples homes and arresting them without even a warrent or a real charge, JUST because they're opposing what the government is doing, no other reason, no criminal charge, no terrorist charge, just for opposing them.

I'm not going to say for sure that it isn't true. Who knows, maybe they are going to kill us all for some reason. They would use some kind of tactic like spreading disease to round people up. You, not being diseased would be glad that the infected were moved out of your town/city.
