These are similar than the ones we've seen of Rubayiat before (during the lighting test) but they are still new.

Wow, alittle light please? Other than that, looks really cool!

*shrug* I prefer the darker shots. It looks much better than falsely lit night times.

But, anyway, these were taken during a lighting test, which almost everyone that looks at any of the Rubayiat shots, knows, but fails to acknowledge in their replies.

The actual game may not be as dark.

Well one of those pics is taken at dusk and the other a bit later, it's to show us how light evolves over time.
I sure hope nighttime is pretty dark though :)

It would be great to get a screenshot of midday and midnight. Then show those same (identical) shots through the eyes of each of the six races so that we can get an idea of how each race's vision differs at night and during the day.

Nice shots by the way. I can't wait to see see some images of the Dwarven area we've been hearing about! :)

Wow! Here's one for the guys complaining about how the graphics had not come as far as they would like! This game is looking great! I can't wait to play in it either!

I also want nighttime to be quite dark. Torches and light spells should provide some real utility. I hope light is propogated throughout the world semi-realistically, instead of the weird colored lighting bubbles that occur in games like DAoC and EQ. I hate how those engines display lighting effects, it looks so artificial, like an area is painted with a highlighter marker when any light source other than daytime falls on it.

I also understand that realistic, soft or hard-edged dynamic shadows, like in Deus Ex:IW would take some serious processing power with a bunch of people on the screen all carrying torches, but it'd sure be cool even still.

My question -- will characters be able to hold objects in their hands other than the basics, like weapons and shields? For instance, I've always wanted to be able to put a mug of ale in my hand in a 3-D mmorpg world, and have my character actually display a drinking animation when I "use" the mug. Same goes with fishing poles, garden tools, pickaxes for mining, and other extraneous gameplay devices. Let there be no mistake -- I am a PvP'er primarily, and thusly I want the broad-effort of the Dev team to be focused on balancing and adding to the open-PvP gameplay. But I really hope these extra, roleplaying pieces are in too.

Hmm #1 looks pretty bright to me, looks like #2 is dusk, I hope it's darker than #2 at night.

If #1 is dark to you, you may wanna get a new V card or change your settings or something.

the ground looks very flat to me , not much terrain is there?

I'd also like to see more diversity in ground geometry, as well as textures and little shrubs and things. Not just one repeating carpet of a texture

If the nights are really dark, everyone is just gonna crank their brightness, at least thats what everyone does in FPS games. I'm starting to think my Radeon 9800 pro will have trouble rendering those beautiful trees... How can they expect this game to run even on the best of systems, especially if there is a lot of people in the area? oh well Im sure it will all work out for the best. ;)

as far as the ground texture... looks like a palace/town to me, probably why its flat.

i am one of the few who don't like dark nights. All it does is make me crank the gamma anyways...
