Hi,
I made up a german MediaWiki about Darkfall  (http://www.darkfallwiki.de) with a few friends and I would like to know if anyone who speak German is interested in helping us to develop the Wiki. At the moment we are still a little projekt with quite a few authors but we are very ambitious and are looking forward to make a big Wiki with tutorials especially for beginners. ;)
greetings

I took a brief look at your Wiki page. The first thing I noticed was the use of "Du". That is only used by family and friends, and by children to other children. In German you always adress strangers as "Sie". Using "Sie" is the proper adult language use.

I know... I am from Germany... but you know "Sie" is to formal. Did you ever talk to any German in a game with "Sie". I think we are all Darkfallfans so we can address us with "Du", thats more personal. But i am going to think of it again.... Let´s see if others complain about it.
And to all who want to help:
Just klick on the "Anmelden"-Button in the right corner at the top of the page and start writing articles =). If you need help just read the tutorial at the helppage. Small articles are in the "Baustellen" section.

"Sie" is like the use of "Sir" - pretty formal and usually not used on the internet (except for SamDog of course). I believe "Du" is completly acceptable considering its a gaming wiki.
@OP: If you need more writers, I'd be glad to help.

der Firma Aventurine in Kooperation mit Razorwax
Razorwax was the name of the company when they started making Darkfall.
After they moved to Greece they changed the name to Aventurine (think someone bought Razorwax and then changed it).
Maybe someone can get you the link to that info.
Goodluck with the wiki

nice thanks... i am glad to see that you find my project interesting :) lets see how big it might become. By the way... I think if it really becomes such big I think I can't handle this on my own. So i am searching a little german clan who wants to help me as admins. I am still clanless so I could become a member of the clan, too. I would place a link like "project of the ...clan at the mainpage". If someone is interested please contact me at k.hipp@online.de.

Take a look in the Clan Forum. I think there are a few german based clans already there

True and not true.
A good use of formal language will give a proffessional impression while a use of more familiar language will give an impression friendly to a younger audience. As this is about gaming, the majority will be young and not care about language impressions.
Also "Sie" does not translate to "Sir". "Sie" translates to "you"
Example in English:
"There you are"
In German:
"Da bist du" (to one person)
"Da seid ihr" (to a group of people)
"Da sind Sie" (to one person in formal tone)
"Da seid Ihr" (to a group of people in formal tone)
I hope you understand the difference.

The German wikipedia also says "Du" to her users and is quite professional. so the informal approach is fine.
