View Full Version : I give... Time for me to look for some boring I.T job for awhile

Well I give in I am currently running out of options but next week I'm going to try ringing up games companies to nag them about internships, if that fails though I'm probably going to have to get a boring I.T office job for awhile so my parents don't bitch about me freeloading ( even though I've been putting more hours into my portfolio than theirs combined ).

Seeing as how you guys are probably involved in a lot of I.T related stuff, what would you recommend for someone who's reasonably good all round with software except for programming? I can personally do basic sound editing and video editing pretty easily and I know how to work around problems with the computer most of the time and of course I can use maya/photoshop etc.

Any ideas? I want to work generally but I also want to move out of this godforsaken economic crash of a country sometime soon, I wouldn't mind doing a video editing or sound editing job for awhile actually, it'd at least be something to do and I actually find it reasonably interesting.

Find some small company branch where the manager knows absolutely nothing about technology. Become the IT guy there. Easiest job you will ever do. You can pretty much spend the whole time forumfalling and if the boss complains that you are taking too long just bullshit him with something like "I'm syncing the external heat sink overclocker with the computer's internal time manager" and say it takes a while to do.

Just say "the flux capacitor is going haywire and needs to be monitored for signs of stress, as it is the most important piece of server technology in the place, if it hits 80rpm the entire network could crash, it'd be down for weeks while we order a new one."

works every time.
