Everyone shed atleast one tear for our poor bruised founding document today.

*tear*

It needs some love...

Especially after the decades of rape suffered by the Commerce Clause.

Do I have to weep for the whole document, or can I exclude the seventeenth amendment? The seventeenth amendment is a jerk.

Meh.

We've been changing the Constitution since about 3 years after it was drafted.

People sometimes forget the Bill of Rights are technically "amendments."

To amend means to change.

I have no problem with whats been done via the amendment process, its the non amendment changes that hurt. Like the boundless expansion of the government via the commerce clause.

Anyone that is for prohibition is the devil.

No, I meant the seventeenth amendment, which provides for the direct election of Senators. I don't like the eighteenth amendment at all, but it was repealed, so I don't worry about it.

All this reminds me of is that noone pays any attention to the Federalist papers anymore. Probably because it'd be inconvenient to actually understand our constitution's intentions.
